I think Melbourne will win it again, but I’ll kinda lean what little interest I have left in this season to Penrith. Because I live out here and a bunch of my mates are Penrith fans, a few of which are really struggling with the lockdown so at least a Penrith premiership would be a bit of a boost to them.

My only interest now is seeing how Nico & Dale go during the finals so I guess I'd want them to take it out, which I would have never said before.

Yep, though looks like he'll be coming off the bench if they don't have injuries. Hopefully get gets game time if they make the GF this time.

Hard to run him and Grant on the bench although still fairly viable given Cheese is an effective 13

Yep, even off a gf win to Nicho (since he didnt get played last year) will be huge for his overall confidence. It will bring him to the club walking tall and could be as some what of a leader

Wonder what's better for us – Storm to win the GF and Nicho to come here full of confidence, or Storm to lose and Nicho to have a point to prove.

A point to prove if he doesn't take the GF field two years in a row

Wouldn't surprise me to see that happen.

Will Storm need the extra big body on the bench against the Panthers? I reckon they do.

David N, Liddle, Luciano are all good. Simpkin and Hoffman are also very good, but young and need time to develop.

Yep i don't think its all doom and Gloom for the Tigers. U21s are a great side, not sure what the average no would be from there, to the top squad- 3/4 players? and how long to blood, 2/3 yrs? If they do what they say they are with the Jnrs, Sprinkle of Decent players ( not stop gapers') could be as little as a 3 yr Turnaround in fortunes.

So the Tigers coaching gig. Well the knobs at the tigers only extended Madges contract back in December so they should prob just stick it out with him and see what comes of it. They don't have the squad right now to challenge anyway. What is it with extending coaches and then sacking them the next year with a big payout? dumb

Hannay has shown how to take a team to 9th place - the promised land (this should make him a front runner)

John Morris a smokey and might suit the young team and his style/demeanor with them and played alot of games for the club

Flanno is what they actually need though - has shown he can take a horrible squad and build it into a monster through coaching and recruitment but even he will need 3+ years to get it done but he might be able to start giving them hope within the first season

As for the Titans - well I think it might actually be good for the game for them to taste some success, (just make a GF or something don't really want them to win it). adds another notch to the interstate QLD rivalries with the Broncs and Cows fading in recent years and the Gold Coast could use a decent sporting team that doesn't fold. Plus I reckon the Titans have copped some shocking officiating over the years, particular back in their 2016 finals campaign which was borderline rigged against the broncos

Not a bad shout although I think Rabbitohs assistant for at least one year is probably better for his career long term than being thrust head first into Tigers.
Maybe if they were to sack Madge late next season Bomber could be a shout

The risk for JMO going to head up the tigers is that he wont make the finals for a few seasons and his career goes backwards very fast before it really got going and clubs dont wanna offer him future contracts as head coach.

but he will face that risk after spending times at Souths but hopefully would be better prepared and experienced and can land at a better club than the tigers

You got to take into consideration that Gal attracted many players to sharks and not flanno. I.e lewis, fifita, graham, maloney etc.
Is Flanno himself enough to lure players?

Flanno did also make some strange signing decisions and left our salary cap a bit top heavy………

Went away from moneyball and started chasing names to keep us successful. Backfired badly but I can't say I don't understand the motivation.

Yep short term top up fix to try reclimb the mountain.Very understandable by career Coach.I think Ennises Departure played a huge part in 2017 slide and to some extent contributed to knee jerk buying.
