the way rossy explained it, people who are undercover in the monty and upper et will be undercover in the grand stand at kogarah, people who have no cover in lower et and pb are still under cover

That's probably as fair as it can be.

The way I see it, you're supporting the team, not the ground. If you're not willing to support the club, a club that has no secrets it's doing it tough financially during the two years then you should not expect to have the same seats when you're back.

And I don't think some holding fee is an answer (as mentioned) because you might get someone who's paid the full freight and then doesn't get to chose the same tickets when we go back.

Sharks fans have to be up there with the most fair weathered in existence. Not you guys of course :)

They're not going to say it obviously but I'd hazzard that if you don't become a member the next two years but come back and ask for your same seats and they're available then I don't think they'll turn you down. You just run the risk of losing them.

I'm lower ET stand, love my seats. And I'll get a membership for Kogarah, but maybe a different tier to hold my spot. I might also try and get one of those sweet sweet Upper ET stand spots that'll come available in a few years.

Kogarah is actually much better logistically for me. Near the train stations, quicker drive and actually in Uber range.

This is flat out the only reason i'll be keeping my tickets. I have ET Upper, almost half way a few rows back and have had for a long time now, with lots of good friends around me that i have made, i love where i have my tickets.

100% there is no chance if i was to relinquish them i would get them back. I personally have absolutely no faith that a 15 year investment, if not renewed for 2 years would 100% result in any new johnny come lately supporter who buys in the equivalent price range would then be offered them with priority over me as i'd be viewed as basically a new member/supporter/account.

That's my issue with the 'ultimatum' as it's been phrased (it's not really)

It's definitely risky in that regard and as Snowman has said, i think they will be in for a few lean years too, the only hope is that the financials are worth the potential narrative it may support (sharks have no fans, easy kill etc)

You are all welcome to disagree (probably will) with my opinion on the renewals/system, call it entitled or fair weather, won't bother me in the slightest. But i'm looking at it from my own perspective as an ongoing loyal customer.

I've seen lots of weather over the years and I often find that the people that stand on the pedestal and get all righteous haven't seen as many weather cycles, nor should it be competitive, everyone's situation is different.

I personally am not overly fond of the ground change (I live outside the area) and was hoping that there would be a way i could pay a nominal amount and maintain the tickets i have (which i quite enjoy) back at Pointsbet.

So SharkShocked is it the extra drive time that's the main issue for you, and how this will likely impact how many games you can attend?

I'm in a similar boat to sharkshocked but I think I'm just apprehensive because part of my enjoyment towards going to games is attached to venue of shark park.

I think I'll retain mine and once I get there and they win a game and we sing the song, I'll probably wonder why I was concerned in the first place.

Hypothetically, if you decided not to renew your seat for the next 2 seasons, how hard would it be to secure it back in 2022?

Like I understand there would be more desirable seats that will get picked up straight away, but surely there would be a high chance of getting back your seat, or something similar when we return to Points Bet?

I've never had a seat so I'm assuming here

Interesting to see how the club goes with this all.
Membership wise for myself and the missus, I will be renewing the membership to enable me to keep the Seats in upper et, as I should be back in NSW within a few yrs, plus I still come down to NSW at lest 3-4 times a year.

I do understand why many would drop off with the membership, though this opens up many seats for upper et seats in a few yrs, and if people complain that they lost them, it would be back on their own shoulders

What about the other reasons you're a current loyal member now ?

- To support your team financially
- To cheer your team
- To see live sport

And many other possible reasons such as to catch up with mates, get away from the missus, take the kids to games like your parents did. I could go on.

Whilst the stadium is a bit more travel for some people none of those things change. That's why I find it hard to understand why people won't still be members. Then again I don't live in the area, so it's always been a bit more effort for me to go to a game, so I don't mind.

We are quickly approaching the date when our Sharks Memberships for 2020 will go on sale! So we wanted to remind you of the process which will be put in place to ensure you can get the best possible seats.

All memberships will be on sale from Monday, October 28. You will receive an email on this date to guide you through the sale process.

If you are an existing Member and renewing for the 2020 season, you will have until the 29th of November to secure your 'like-for-like' seat that has been allocated to you. You will have a month to secure the best seats at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium at Kogarah.

Any Member wishing to request a seat change, must do so by emailing The Cronulla Sharks Membership Team on members@sharks.com.au, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If you are a new Member and are looking at purchasing a reserve seat package, you can secure a seat on this date too. But, remember, you will have a second chance to secure a great seat from November 30 when any seats not taken up by existing members will go back into the pool for sale to new members.

We are looking forward to having you on board next year. In a year where we look at honouring the past, and building for the future.”

At this stage I’m pretty likely to renew. We have three tickets at the moment in the ET Upper for myself, my wife and son.

We’ve budgeted for it and I’m hearing that at Jubilee it may be a little cheaper so that’ll suit us.

20 mins or so to Shark Park from where are and it’s about 2 mins more to Jubilee for us.

Unless there’s a nasty surprise in pricing, I think we’ll go again in 2020.

If you didn't renew your seats, would you still have bought a non ticketed or GA membership?
