So there you have it. Townsend led most of the year but ultimately was finally run down in the final round by his halves partner. Josh Morris was one of the buys of the year in the competition and his experience proved crucial to our backline in the face of the injury troubles we had. Unlucky to miss out on a podium spot was this years surprise packet Branden Hamlin-Uele, he's worked his absolute arse off to get better all year this year and he reaps the rewards with a better pay packet, more game time and cult status among the Sharks faithful.
A big thank you to everybody who participated this year. I know it was a frustrating year on the field for the team and us fans, but thank you for giving credit and recognising guys who helped us keep our finals appearance streak alive. I enjoyed running this again this year and I'll be happy to do it all again next year if you all are cool with it. I know it's just a fan website Player of the Year competition and it's only just a bit of fun for all of us, but it's always a positive for fans to recognise the guys who put in for the club we love week in and week out, so thanks again all for taking part and I hope you all got some enjoyment out of it.
