Focus all our positive energy this week on Souths panthers and eels doing us a favour and beating their opponents to give us a 2pt break and get us a game close to the storm.

How ridiculous giving Sam burgess 10mins for that.
how ridiculous the commentators wanking him off for making a regulation chase down tackle after the panthers fullback made an epic run from down field that is pretty much ignored

Also sterlo declaring him the best forward in the game, up their with his jackson best forward in Origin 1 comment
I respect sterlo but he's been spewing out some gus gould grade dribble lately

I like Trent Barrett, but not that much. Manly concern me a tad now.

Barret said he looks forward to playing us again this year...

If we do meet them in the finals at least it will be at the SFS where we seem to play well, not at our home ground where we are cursed and not at ****sville lottoland
Plus our fans should well out number them at the SFS like we did a few years back

But yea Manly are a headache to the Sharks like the Sharks are to the Roosters

Yeah - I was laughing when they started going on about that. It was just a forward doing his job. I've learned to live with the fact that when a so called "superstar" makes a good play it will often be described as exceptional even though it happens several times each round.

Will The Roosters game be the catalyst we needed to play the football we all know we can play?

It took 15+ games but we finally put together a fairly polished game. I haven't seen the game yet but I did see some tries that I haven't seen us score all year. Lewis had a few runs across field with good results and we had some nice, polished back line tries.

Any Sharks fan should know that our penalties and holding onto the ball have been killing us, and if not for all the experienced players in our squad, we wouldn't be in the position we are in now.

I think the teams to beat are Melb, Roosters and Manly, but if we are playing like we played last weekend, then I think we are ready to give Melbourne another run for their money in the finals game.

Unlike last year, the injuries have hit us a bit harder, but I'm hoping once seggy comes back we can get some
New structures and game plans and be hitting form as we are coming into the finals.

What do you guys think? Are you a true believer?

I don't think Manly and Roosters are in the bracket of teams to beat, they'll both fade when the serious stuff starts imo. Provided we have now turned the corner I think us and Melbourne are easily the two beast teams.

i think seggy is going to add a lot when he comes back. will take a couple games but come finals (think we will make top 4) he will carve up.

That's what I was getting at. Until last week, those 2 teams were the teams we were on par with, and maybe a little behind Melb. The game Melb played last week was the feeling I got last year when we beat Brisbane and the cowboys on corrsponding weeks... it was that game I could see they were easily the best team in the Comp, just like I thought last year when we beat Bris and cowboys.

We play like we played this week from now on and I reckon we are back up there in the 2 horse race.

this is what I'm hoping. May take a few weeks, but if all goes to plan we should be firing with confidence coming into the finals with players like Holmes, Chad and the ever experienced players all ready to bring it home... anything less than a GF will be a failure but inwas they back to back so bad..

None of this "it's too early **** to think about that".. lets get that 2016 vibe back and bring it home

Time for another of my comments for the looney bin, but....

I see the back to back road trips to Brisbane and Townsville being as daunting as they are potentially draining. Could that be a good chance to schedule a giant rest pre finals, depending on how the top 8 is looking?

I don't think it'll be too much of a problem. If anything you'd think our boys perform better on the road.

We got Titans in GC, then back to Syd for Rabbits, then off to NZ, back to Syd for The Clappers then 2 in QLD 8 days apart. Then chooks at home and Knights in Newy to wrap it up. All pretty do-able in my opinion.

Broncos probably the stand out tough game probably welcoming back Boyd and Milf as is our luck. Short time between Chooks games might see them aim up a bit better. Raiders might pull one outta the bag to cap off a horrid season for them. Cows should be outta the race I reckon. It would be very Cronulla of us to let the Knights get up on Old Boy's Day in Newy but I'd like to believe we'll either be better than that or already have our top 4 spot consolidated so it won't matter.

To answer you question about resting blokes for those QLD games I'd say not unless their bodies are giving them issues. Its a month after the bye, 3 weeks after Origin 3. If anything I'd say we get all our resting of players out the way before the tour of QLD.

anyone think the dragons will make the 8?

Yeah I personally think the current Top 8 will be the final Top 8. Not sure of the order but none of the teams out side of the 8 look like they'll go on a run to make up the gap imo.

Question: anyone know whether the NRL has confirmed squad sizes for next year? And whether they'll be substantially different to what they are currently? Or is it all tied up in the CBA negotiations?
