WOW , Lewis said on NRL 360 that at our captains run the day before the Grand final the team was absolutely atrocious .
Every time they tried an exercise they'd stuff it up .
When they said OK this time lets get it right , they'd stuff it up yet again , numerous times .
Decided to wrap the session up and hit/catch tennis balls and instead .
Next day , everyone was cool as cucumbers on the team bus and ended up playing to their very best of their ability , mistake free footy .
Go figure .

Weird thing, but it kind of makes sense to me. Playing in a band, a lot of the best gigs come after a terrible rehearsal the day before. Good to get all the crap out of the way during the last practice and then nail it when it counts.

Before I ever played any sport I'd have a **** around. Get the crap out early and hope you don't repeat it. Can't imagine where their heads would have been knowing they play in front of 80K+ tomorrow as well as the Sharkies 1st.

If Lyall was to leave Cronulla the only way I'd be happy to see him involved in the NRL is to run it rather than a club. Couldn't begrudge him if he did go elsewhere though.

i agree to a point, especially about Fulton, the Penn's might as well just hand him the reigns cause it appears if things go down how he doesn't like he carries on like a little b#*#h & creates even more trouble.

Taking my Sharks goggles off, we weren't far off a basket case ourselves sometime back & most would have wanted to give us the wide berth as well, Lyall, apparently does like challenges.

Yeah any incoming CEO might want to have a meeting before accepting with Bozo's kids, uncles, aunties, nephews, neices, his cat, dog and goldfish just to make sure there are no issues.

He's wanting that centre of excellence built. I can't see him going until that is up and running or the development is good to go. He leaves and anything could happen. He doesn't seem like the type to quit half way through. His comment after the GF only reinforces my thoughts on the situation... "this is just the beginning"

Next time we all have a whinge about the NRL tribunal.....it could be worse.

A character reference from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and media advocate Waleed Aly persuaded the AFL tribunal that Bachar Houli was of such character that they halved his penalty for knocking out Carlton's Jed Lamb.

Houli was banned for two weeks with the tribunal declaring "it is very rare that we come across an example of such a fine character ... and on that basis it's a two week penalty."

Houli argued that he had carelessly struck Lamb but had not intended to strike him as he was a peaceful and religious person and was shocked to find himself charged with intentionally hurting another person.

"I am really shocked (to be accused of intentional striking). It's something I have never ever done in my life and something I would never ever do. Its part of my practice in my religion.

I am a peaceful person. I am proud of how I have conducted myself and handled myself and its something I teach to young boys and girls."
