I'm an trading card collector and the sets can be expensive but keeps value.

I don't imagine the RL trading card market fluctuates too much, but if you wanted to cash in how easily would you find someone else willing to pay that 'value'?

I got a bunch of full collections in mint condition with all the specials (a good few signed) from 1994 to about 1999. They hold sentimental value as it was a hobby I shared with my grandfather, but what sort of $ value would that stuff have Matty and who'd pay it?

$899 for 21 footy cards is madness IMO. They could be signed in the blood of the player and Barba's card can even have been used to rack up his GF celebrations, still sporting remnants of Columbia's finest on the edges. Still too much.

Understandable. A offical nrl signature cards in traders and elite fetch around $50 however dependant on the player, number of the card made and how low it is.

With the set itself, you'll be looking at roughly $52-58 per card. So it's actually well priced per single card. Surprising of the 50 sets been made over 80 % have been sold

Not all the players actually have had an offical nrl signature or has one in sharks colours.
Gallen has had plenty. Bird, Holmes, Fifita and feki have two now. Barba and Maloney have one In sharks colours and the top of the head most of the others don't.

when people bid on the signed players jerseys ie: WIL rounds, a signed jersey went for in excess of $1500. This was as memoribilla. Just the same as these cards are memoribila of the team winning the gf. You could get boot leg signed cards off eBay however some of those have been seen to be fakes. So it's a huge gamble
Those cards that you collected with your grand father would be valued to you hugely, on the open market they could be anything.

The card market is a strange one, as I said before dependant on the player, type of card and Rarity, prices can be nuts . Ie: 2012 NRL
Dynasty Black league leader (50 made) for Gallen, started as low as about $200 two years ago and now excess of $450.

Anytime mate

Ozcardtrader.com.au would be your best bet. it's the Australia's only card trader website. Make sure you put the details of the cards you have and they should give you some info.

You will also find when the card markets are happening, I recall one is in mid feb and then early march

I was a mad card collector in the early 90's. Mostly ARL and NBA.

Still have them in those leather folders you could buy.

Have a Jordan rookie baseball card, will have to see what thats worth.

Matty you should start a card thread.

I still have 1000's of my old NBA cards. I've got one complete Upper Deck season from '94-95 as well as about 300 Hakeem Olajuwon cards all in plastic cases.

Even if they were worth good money I don't think I could sell them. Had them for over 20 years now. Crazy.

Yeah mate i had the gold signed jordan baseball card that came in the nba sets. I flogged it to the hobby store at the time for a cool $150 (i was like 7). My parents clearly didnt care about me to advise me otherwise

I have no idea about trading cards so forgive my ignorance... I bought an uncut sheet of collector cards from Super League year. I also have an album some where, of cards I bought from a sports memorabilia shop in the early to mid 90's. I would have no idea if they are worth anything except to me.
