I understand the idea of an alternate jersey, but IMO a team should only have to wear it at an away game when their main jersey clashes with the home teams for no other purpose but easy distinction of teams

Agree, it drives me bloody insane. There's no tradition in jerseys these days. I hate it.

Teacher at my school used to wear them.

Said they're perfect for Spring and Autumn when it's not cold enough for a jumper.
