Where is the Pom going to play next year?

When everyone is fit I'd say this is our strongest side;

1) Michael Gordon
2) Johnathan Wright
3) Ricky Leutele
4) Blake Ayshford
5) Beau Ryan
6) Todd Carney
7) Jeff Robson
8) Sam Tagataese
9) John Morris
10) Paul Gallen
11) Luke Lewis
12) Wade Graham
13) Chris Heighington
-----------------------------
14) Anthony Tupou
15) Andrew Fifita
16) Ben Pomeroy/Tupou Sopoaga
17) Isaac De Gois/Michael Lichaa

Wright is a horrible winger , average centre but bad winger id give wing to feki if he resigns if not then stappo , Wright has to miss the top grade

Forwards id go
8 fifita
9 morris
10 gallen
11 heighno
12 graham
13 lewis

14 d fifita
15 tupou
16 taga
17 d gois/ lichaa

Gallen should shift from front row to second row not lock so he gets a breather

Robson cops it a fair bit but **** me he's been gun the last 5 or so weeks. I am actually happy to have him as our halfback.

Gutted we lost but I'm extremely happy with the effort. That's how I want us to play, heaps of intensity and offloads, I really do believe if Carney was playing we win that game. You could really tell where we missed Carney the most, in our kicking game. We only hit the turf on our long kicks once and that was in the 5th minute. Manly we're always starting their sets on the 20-30 metre mark and had attacking kicks every set, you can't give that field position to those halves.

Our defence was good. Manly scored two tries off kicks that were pin point and two tries that we're in my opinion no try's. If Taufua got that ball down I'm Bill Gates. You can tell by the seperation and the way the ball bounces when it lands. The second try through the hands had a clear cut forward pass from Stewart to Lyon. One of many forward passes that weren't picked up by referees against both sides.

The attitude of the players after the game and the belief and experience the players will get from the run in the finals has me excited for next season.
Good summation. I'm not a Robbo fan but he has been good the past few weeks. However, he still lacks that little bit of polish that would have won us the game last night. I'm proud of the effort our boys put in last night but let's be honest, Manly were absolutely ripe for the picking. Carney plays and we win. But that's the problem, we still have an unhealthy reliance on one player, more than any other team in the 8. Until we fix that I can't see us going all the way unfortunately.

I think I had us finishing 7th at the start of the year so I'm happy with this year. The question is what are we doing to improve next year?

He has only appeared to be good because he is generally that bad. Every Robbo fan on here should pick up this weeks RLW where it states that Robson has the least amount of try assists per touches for playmakers...in the comp. He is poo and will only get poo ier over the next two years.

Have to agree with this - the guy is dead set scared of the sideline - terrible winger.

Last night's game? - We were outplayed, womanly deserved the win. We aint cowgirls and won't be sooking to anyone that listens, won't be crying on biased qld news stories, nor will we start a petition....

But hey - if we had Carney? Obviously a different result. We need to sort this out though - because Carney will continue to get injured. We need to sort out a strategy for this scenario in the off season - not just replacement players, but plan B game plans to go with it.

The season? - I believe we have made a major positive shift over the last few weeks in the way we play. Our team attitude has been awesome in this period and is the best I have seen since Lang left (brain-dead decision that one). For a team that can't score points we managed 18 against a top side without our best attacking weapon...

In robsons defence tho he isnt there to do anything spectacular and the way gordon was running off other players against manly if he rans those lines for carney and our centres are damaging next hear (fergo in particular) defence will be in three minds have to worry about carney running goin short to his second rowers/ long to centres or out the back to flash

Im really lookin forward to next year I was excited to see how we went this year and I was proud of the boys and we take alot out of this year into next year but never seen us as a real threat with all the new boys just starting and asada plus injuries
Next year is looking good for the black white and blue

how so?

the only dubious decision was taufuas try, but that showed the error in our videomref system. **** camera work and the ref calling no try-try is a joke. if that was by last years video ref set up, no try.

plenty of forward passes, but too many get let go every game

I wrote a big reply to this but lost my post so in summary there was more than one dubious decision. The watmough try (ball changed direction was knock on in lead up), tafua try, forward passes, offside all game
I said before this game that after our 7th tackle try last week refs would not give us an inch and they didn't but the ****house video ref calls are nothing new or different to what happens to every team week in week out
Just no common sense at all. Sort your **** out NRL. The refs definitely didn't let the vocal Sharks crowd sway them but most of our complaints were pretty fair. Manly got away with murder at times. If we had a competent ref system we may have had a different outcome in that game. Having said that we had our chances and no Carney was a major blow. Well done to the boys for toughing it out and kept trying despite so much against them.

just got home. fell asleep on the train, woke up at Belmore when i should've bailed at Dulwich Hill. ****en

Lol,anytime you and trains come together it is guaranteed comedy gold...

Been hearing people bagging Johnny Morris, I'm a bit dirty about that, yeah he did something stupid, but just remember if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have even played this game......

I know it sucks that we lost, but i don't think the decisions against us cost us the match. I have watched the game again. The better team won. We had them up the middle, however our halves did not capitalise on two injured centres in Matai and Lyon who were out on their feet. Not blaming Townsend and Robson, but the difference is that little bit of polish in situations like this.

I'm proud of the boys season. Onwards and upwards.

Agreed henry, they were on the ropes and we couldn't land the knock out blow. They deserved to win because they showed a lot of heart to even stay in it.

Also I got to say this is the best I've felt after the end of a Sharks season in a long time. We didn't win but we gave it our all and got beaten by a better team. That's all I can ask for. Our previous two finals games we were pathetic (Raiders last year, Storm in 2008).

Yep, exactly how I saw it. If Carney played we win, simple as that. We need to sort this out though, can't keep relying on Carney to be our sole source of creativity if we want to go all the way.
