How well you understand the Membership game depends on what your answer to the following three questions are;

1. Do you believe that every Club actually has the numbers they're reporting?

2. Which Membership figure is the reason Club's do Memberships; the number of Members or the amount of revenue it generates?

3. Would you rather have 100 Platinum Members or, for the sake of a nicer number, would you rather have 1,000 Shark Net Members?

One more slice of food for thought...

Last year the Club had 6,789 Members and generated $X all year.

This year the Club has over 3,500 Members and has generated 90% of $X made the year before with sixteen weeks of strong sales opportunities still ahead.

Which is a healthier position to be in?

1. Hells no!! I bet souths and dragons are over exacted their results!!!
2. I think they only go for both, but most only do one..
3. Why can't we have both ? I want both lol it will Better the club, 100 plat for 1000 each would make it 100000 while 1000 sharks net isn't that 30 or more so about 30000 or more. So if we get both 130000 or more..

With a bit of luck (& good promotion / positive vibes), it might get up to 1 1/2 or even 2X.

That would be sweet!

Haha, I'd like both too, but it's key for a Club like ours to lean towards the option that generates the most revenue until we can financially secure ourselves a little more.

By the way, if you preferred 1,000 Shark Net Members over 100 Platinum Members, you made 900 more Members but lost out on $30,000 in revenue.

The strategy to date; fortify what we have (a tough battle considering the results from the last three years) and THEN move on and bring more into the fold. We've successfully fortified the faithful we had and in the next two months you'll see the Club implement the back end of the strategy and branch out to the swing voters. No need to hit the panic buttons. Just sign yourself up, then sign your friends up and the rest will take care of itself.

Onwards and upwards as a wise man's signature once said.

(And possibly still could...?)

not really, just pointing out there are probably lots of us that will be last minute inclusions so numbers may spike.

It's all good Bundy, just screwing with you.

I realise we all have access to varying levels of disposible income, and the motivation to support the Sharks is stronger in some. Each to their own.

Personally, I want the club to prosper & for the team to once again become a force in the competition, so I can't wait to get behind the club & renew my membership the first chance I get.

is the NRL putting on any more battle of the beaches..westies etc membership things again?

that'd spike numbers.

Thanks El Coconuto - I'e purchased my membership and agree with your responses. Platinum and ticketed members are our main priority ! It's all about revenue. I assume ticketed members are mainly driven by locals who can attend games so we really need to continue to push locally. We should aim for 5,000 as this ensures revenue whether they attend the game or not.

It would also be great to see the stats for each different membership this year vs previous years to see variances and possibly analyse the drop in total members. Perhaps it's interstate or the more junior memberships etc....

Lets keep up the hard work.

An open request to everyone here...

As passionate supporters here we all know about the benefits and importance of Membership.

Can I ask that everyone here spruiks and evangelises Club Membership.

I'm not asking for a Billy Graham "Crusade" but it would be ultimately beneficial to the cause if everyone made the odd Facebook or Twitter comment to highlight the importance of Membership.

In particular, I'd love to see comments posted on the Sharks facebook wall that encourage the casual and non-committed "fan" to become a Member.

In doing so, please remember... you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

Cheers.
