I asked vavs how he pronounced his first name and he just rattled off something full of s's, i's, a's and more s's. I said we just call you vavs and he laughed and said "yeah, even my mum calls me that". He was a very friendly guy
Haha. He did an interview with Sharks TV early last year and he seemed a bit shy but a lovely fella. How did he look fitness wise Johnno? In comparison to the other props?

he has no puppy fat stomach anymore.
the prop that surprised me for size the most was josh cordoba, he is a unti of a bloke.
we all expect snow and douglas to be big humans but josh is enormous.
andrew clayton is a bit "chubby" and should use this year similar to vave in shredding the excess puppy fat and gaining a heap of strength, great guy to talk to as well

Yeah Vaves was awesome today - he has grown up (and toned up) a lot in the last 12 months. Something that really impressed me was that he took it upon himself to go over to the PCYC kids who were there to do gymnastics and boxing displays (my boy was one of the boxers). He gave them an awesome support and rev up speech which I thought showed an amazing amount of maturity and initiative.
The man is also an eating machine!
I'm sure he was on a first name basis (So-sigh-ee-ahh) with all the food providores on the day.
BTW: Big raps to Nando's chicken who provided little packs of beautifully BBQ'ed chicken free of charge for today. Tops!

Still got some growin' to do to catch Kade and Douggie. I was surprised to see how big Douggie actually is. Quite lean for his size but big and tall.
Actually asked him about extending his contract and he mentioned the option and "whether they want me" to which I exclaimed "MATE, THEY WANT YA!!". He seemed like a very humble and genuine kinda guy. Couldn't help but like him

There's something I really should say here as well about today's fan day and that a lot of what was achieved today couldn't have been done unless some very dedicated Sharks fans and Members went the extra yards and volunteered to make the day a success.
Every year we continue to grow and I think the effort that these people in assisting with that "renovation" of our Club by volunteering their time and effort can never be underestimated.
On behalf of all Sharks fans who truly desire that our Club becomes triumphant and successful, I extend a heartfelt "Thank YOU".
