Really Gordon is not known to anyone other than our fans and Kelly if he is known is only known for dropping bombs. I would be surprised to see them in but I hope they are. It would be great for them and they would let no one down, even in this quality of match.

Voting To Close For Indigenous All Stars

Voting To Close For Indigenous All Stars
10/11/2010 9:09:47 AM

Rugby League fans have less than 24 hours to lodge their votes for the 2011 Indigenous All Stars, with polling closing at 11:59pm (AEDT) tonight.

Already, 10,000 fans have logged on to www.nrl.com/allstars to have their say and there is still a chance for fans to be part of selecting one of the most exciting teams in Australian sport.

As one countdown nears its end, another begins with fans also able to take up the challenge of selecting the NRL All Stars side featuring at least one player from every NRL club, with stage one of voting commencing at midday (AEDT) today at www.nrl.com/allstars

The 2011 Indigenous All Stars, under the direction of coach Laurie Daley and with Preston Campbell at the helm, has the potential to include some of the biggest names in Rugby League and the 20-man squad that takes the field come February 12 will face a tough NRL All Stars side looking to redeem themselves after last year’s loss.

Once voting for the Indigenous All Stars closes tonight and the 16-publicly selected players are finalised, coach Laurie Daley will meet with members of the Australian Rugby League Indigenous Council to select an additional three eligible players to join captain Preston Campbell in the 20-man squad.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing who the fans will select for the Indigenous All Stars, it’s an incredible field of names to choose from,” Daley said.

“I urge anyone who hasn’t already voted to get online today and have a say on who will be included in the side.

“This is a rare opportunity for fans to play the role of selectors and with a group of incredible athletes eligible for the team, the All Stars is set to once again be a match to remember.”

Voting for the first stage of the NRL All Stars side also gets underway today, from midday (AEDT) at www.nrl.com/allstars

In this first round of voting, which continues through until December 28, fans will be asked to select two backs and two forwards from each of the 16 NRL clubs to form a shortlist of 64 players.

NRL All Stars coach Wayne Bennett will then indicate which positions he wants each of the 64 players to be considered for, as well as outlining the make-up of the bench positions.

In stage two of the NRL All Stars voting, the public will be given the challenge of selecting one player from each of the 16 NRL clubs.

The 16 players chosen by the fans will join Australian and New Zealand Test captains Darren Lockyer and Benji Marshall, with coach Wayne Bennett and the NRL All Stars coaching staff then selecting the remaining two players to form the 20-man squad.

Overview of NRL All Stars voting:

• The first player to be chosen in the NRL All Stars team will be the player who scores the highest number of overall votes in a position.
• Once a player from one club is placed in the team, no other player from that club can be chosen.
• If a player withdraws from the team due to injury, he will be replaced by someone from the bench.
• The open bench spot will then be replaced by someone from the injured player’s club, with the new player having recorded the second highest number of votes from that club, either as a forward, back or utility, depending on the position needed for the bench.

Rugby League fans are also being reminded to secure their tickets for the 2011 Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars, with less than 6,000 tickets remaining.

Tickets are available through Ticketek outlets, on 132 849 or www.ticketek.com.au. New Zealand customers can call 0800 842 538 or +61 132 849.

Voting began at noon today for the NRL All Stars where you must vote for 2 forwards and 2 backs from each team. The next phase after this to narrow it down further is in January. This current phase will close on December 28th.

I voted Dougie, Snowden, Graham and Gardner. While Gallen deserves to be there I think these 4 will benefit the most while guys like Gallen and Jeremy Smith will just risk injury for the start of the season.

I vote to keep all Sharks away from this game as I don't want morons like Dell getting in any of their ears again.

Indigenous All Stars Team Announced

Indigenous All Stars Team Announced
16/11/2010 11:47:21 AM

Greg Inglis will reclaim the dream that was denied earlier this year through injury when he joins the likes of Preston Campbell, Scott Prince, Johnathan Thurston, Jamie Soward and Nathan Merritt and Australian Test stars Sam Thaiday, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Willie Tonga in the 2011 Indigenous All Stars side, named in Brisbane on Tuesday.

The outstanding line-up for the second Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars, on February 12 at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast, also includes newcomers Matt Bowen and Ryan James in a team that has captured the imagination of sports fans across the country and inspired Indigenous communities.

NRL Chief Executive, David Gallop, ARL Indigenous Council Chairman, William ‘Smiley’ Johnstone and Indigenous All Stars coach, Laurie Daley joined Queensland Premier, Anna Bligh, at the State Library of Queensland’s Kuril Dhagun centre for today’s announcement, which also saw the NRL and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Foundation unveil a new partnership that will help deliver reconciliation initiatives to communities throughout Australia.

Indigenous All Stars coach, Laurie Daley, today named the following team for the 2011 Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars:

Preston Campbell (c) - Titans
Nathan Merritt - Rabbitohs
Willie Tonga - Cowboys
Greg Inglis - Rabbitohs
Jharal Yow Yeh - Broncos
Scott Prince - Titans
Johnathan Thurston - Cowboys
Tom Learoyd-Lahrs - Raiders
Travis Waddell - Raiders
George Rose - Sea Eagles
Sam Thaiday - Broncos
Jamal Idris - Bulldogs
Greg Bird - Titans
Ben Barba - Bulldogs
Jamie Soward - Dragons
Carl Webb - Eels
Cory Paterson - Knights
Joel Thompson - Raiders
Ryan James - Titans
Matt Bowen - Cowboys

Australian and Broncos prop Sam Thaiday received the highest number of votes from fans with more than 10,000 people lodging their Indigenous All Stars team since mid-September to reveal the stellar list of players announced today.

“Once again the fans certainly have delivered a formidable side, with the players announced today some of the most exciting and inspirational talent in Rugby League,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said.

“The Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars has been embraced by Australians and the community spirit conveyed at the inaugural game this year was remarkable.

“The fans now have the task of selecting the opposing NRL All Stars side and with the rules stating the team must include one player from each of the 16 NRL clubs, this is definitely not an easy undertaking.”

wasnt he a late inclusion?

Yeah I think he was, can't remember who he replaced actually.

Either way he automatically thought he was King by playing in that game and it inflated his ego to the extent he thought he was a better player than he actually is.

I still think he has made a massive mistake in leaving us and burning his bridges here.

I like Canberra but they will have their work cut out to control his massive ego.

ben jones is unlucky.....

did i catch anyone?

Ferguson was rubbish, glad he is not in there.

Ben Jones shouldn't be in there at all.

He looks more Irish than indigenous tbh.

I agree Newy, Fergo didn't do a lot and now that he is no longer here I couldn't give a rats what that wanker does tbh.
