Slaters Kid plays at my sons Club, trains next to the Team my son plays in. Not real approachable, i get that he's just watching his son, but is part of a jnr club/family, and would not hurt to be a bit more amenable, promoting the game and all.. just saying.

Stormshark: G'day Billy, my name is..

Why not a team I the WA? Isn’t it the NRL not the eastern side of Australia rugby league.

Dolphins, what sort of name is that for a rugby league team.

May as well have called them the Nimbin Headers.

Harder (even ignoring the borders & covid situation), too expensive for NRL
They are taking the easy expansion option

Logisitcal nightmare in the current climate. Plus QLD NEEDED another team on the Broncos doorstep. They’re advantage is just too overwhelming. Thank **** they’ve been too incompetent to properly exploit it.

Redcliffe is a fantastic choice. Right next to the Broncos. Already a popular, well run established and powerful club/brand with its own home ground and local supporters.

I would love for a team to be in Perth in the future, but its not the right time.

Yeah man Not sure. The current climate will only get better the 17th team won’t enter till 2023. If they really want to be serous and establish as a nrl they need a wa team. Wa has a whole state to get behind it. If they can do it in Victoria the heart land of afl. Should they can do it in wa.

They said Redcliffe has something like $50m in assets and $20m in the bank.

It's crazy, and they're not the only lower grade club with great finances.

Makes you wonder if having an NRL team is just a license to piss away money

WA imo wouldn't have the interest, popularity & coin to get a team based over there. Thats not to say I'd be against them getting a team eventually though. Remember a lot of current fans have also said to relocate us over there instead of making a whole new team.

I heard that they won’t even be called Redcliffe Dolphins. And play some games out of Suncorp.

Looking at their website, they look like they're going to need a fair bit of investment and organizational overhaul to be an NRL club. No updates since August, no recent Twitter or Instagram updates, there is a Facebook update though. Sponsored by the local car dealer. I'm sure it will all come in time... but I thought these clubs were all meant to be sitting on a fortune. Our local rugby clubs keep things more up-to-date.
