Didn't realise we hadn't won a finals game for a while...
Yeah , just one since 2016 - POOR
Also the part " Sharks winning a combined 32 matches in the previous two regular seasons, behind only the Panthers who won 38 games and have won three-straight titles "

It's interesting that it considered much much worse that we really consistently beat weaker teams but struggle against the best handful.
Compared to other teams that flash a win against the top teams every now and again but lose games they should win a lot more often too.

You know who else didn't win a finals game? Rabbitohs, Eels and Cowboys who all fell out of the top 8.

People call the Sharks pretenders because their team fluked a win against a couple top 6 teams who came in too relaxed but still didn't make the finals.

It's not nothing that we keep making finals but not going further, but there are plenty of teams whose fanbase would actually love that to be what their team is building on.

The article said "star studded backline." Is it really though? Ronnie and Katoa have mistakes in them, Ramien has brain explosions, Sifa is laterally challenged defensively and Tricky is brand new in the role. Will is good when he is in form but again, you wouldn't put him in the top 5 NRL fullbacks.

1-6 most sides have a bigger star than our backline. Obviously Nicho is the stud.

I'd listen to an argument that our 1-7 has close to the best average level of talent across each position.

Think Rooster's would probably be only team above us, Penrith and Broncs too but chance they start some rookies this year.

Lots of players threatening to be stars but not quite reaching those heights. Ronnie selected for QLD and not getting to play. Sifa and Nicho worse, they actually got into the field. Dale, Jesse and Cam were once rep level. BHU is the next big thing once every six to eight weeks. Will.... Teig... Now Tricky. Who's going to break out? We're due. Maybe they all will at once!!

Cam, Dale, BHU and Teig the backline? This one is up there with Val at five-eighth.

The effort plays from Nicho in defence remind me so much of JT coming up with the perfect effort tackle or support play. The effort this guy puts into every game is so immense.

Yep he hates losing as much as we do. Love that we have 2 captains but the sexy 7 is the man for post game coach’s press conference. Probably pulled a couple from a flaming car wreck then retrieved a cat stuck up a tree, all on the drive home. The man can do anything.
Hail Nico

he's always demonstrated heart in defence
last night another shining example

I recall on run from marker and chased down, pure effort - this was right near the end of the game
effort all the way, sets a good example
