Feels like a long-term choice for mine, could still have Bennett as an assistant.

Kiwi boys would be fired up to play for Stacey as well you'd have to think.

Who knows the details tbh, but it's definitely in the Cows interest to get him off the books, so some contribution makes sense. Also Saints aren't exactly stacked at the moment, so getting some decent players in isn't going to break their cap.

Should have done the opposite IMO. Jones has no real coaching expertise. Bring in Bennett with Jones as the assistant with the plan to swap them in 2-3 years. No way Wayne goes there for an assistant role.

Yeah fair enough, just feel like the circumstances are very different. He had pretty much been given the ass by the Broncos then, and was looking for a gap filler between that and St George. He very publicly declared his interest for this role, so would be surprised to see him settle as the assistant. Possibly in some director role similar to what he did with Tonga., but still unlikely IMO.

On the Bennett talk missing out in Kiwis coach.. Wasn’t there a rumour in here we were interested in him as a coach coordinator or what ever role they call it these days??

Could that open the door for that happening now. I would be keen on that idea, Bennett is a very smart man and his presence, once a week or whatever it may be could really help Fitz as a coach on some minor details
