    Ayres was in a marginal seat with a government desperately trying to hang on. Penrith stadium was an electoral bribe. Shire seats not marginal so no political incentive to allocate cash to the stadium.

    The sharks have lacked speed for many years. Holmes is the only one in this squad who could be considered quick. Addo-Carr in this backline would make a difference but not to be.
