In August 2006, it was announced that Blacklock would have to retire from all forms of rugby league due to a chronic knee injury. Blacklock had been planning to retire from the game at the end of the season but when the extent of his injury was discovered, the club decided to release Blacklock from his contract as he was no longer able to play. After his retirement was announced, Blacklock came out and stated, "I'm disappointed I've had to call it a day, but I simply can't give the 100% I want to anymore because of injuries. I can't put my heart and soul into playing. Everyone at the club has been great to me and I wish the team all the best for the play-offs and the future."

Doesn't sound like he's making a comeback. He's 32!

dunno, if its true im kinda disappointed but dont have anything against him yet
glad hes on under 300 000 but, hopefully a lot of that is match payments so the more hes injured the less hes paid

Can't see us getting him for 280K given the $ he was on at Wigan, but if it's true then I'd say we've done OK; I reckon he's got plenty of good footy left in him and should be good value at that price if he can stay on the field.

Agree with you Mega. IMO if we do get Barrett it will add new dimensions to our game.

no1 seems to know anything about this
2 seasons max i hope
he is getting on

If we have signed Barrett for 2 years, worth $560k I'll be very happy with that. I hope that turns out to be the case.

MOST RECENT BARRETT NEWS I CAN FIND PLACES HIM STILL negotiating his release (fukn caps... i mean caps lock) because apparently his contract was heavily backended and he feels he should be paid out some of it so he gets 2/3 his total contract worth
IMO if you take a back ended contract and back our early, bad luck

Seymour to play hooker in 09 ?

If my mail is correct, then the Johnathan Thurston deal is made up to cover for the real half back signing for 2009. He has played SOO for NSW and is 21 years old. I have keep this one to myself for a while now. If its true then we are laughing ! A gun player. I really hope my mail is good on this one. My side for next year would be.
