Nah mate, just see it as a vital part of our image.

Someone with next to no rugby leage knowledge can see our hoops jersey and say "thats the Sharks" and that is something really special.

No worries mate. You just seem to have a good knowledge of new kit items so thought maybe you had some inside knowledge.

Always have been a jersey nerd.

Love it how you can be crossing the street wearing a Sharks jersey in some small town in Tasmania, and some wood duck will always stick his head out the car to give you a "SSSHHHAAARRKKIIIEESSS"

I only wish there was more emphasis on tradition though. By all means have away strips but I'd live to see continuity in home jerseys. You don't see the big Melbourne AFL clubs dicking with their home jerseys and that's how it should be imo.

We are getting there with the hoops. Even though this year is a slight variation, at heart its still our hoops.

I know what you mean with the AFL, but dig deeper and you will see there has always been variations.

Essendon and Richmonds sash thickens and thins, droops and straightens. Demons colour shades varies. Bulldogs change their hoops. St Kilda used to have yellow in their jersey before the Germans ruined it for everyone.

Rugby league has been less traditional, but in the last decade we have really got on board to make an effort. We have returned to traditional strips and throwback logos.

Teams like Panthers and Warriors are a complete basketcase in regards to jersey consistency, but when talking about the Sharks and identidy, we're now up there with Bunnies, Roosters and Dragons.

I'm working with a graphic design artist to make something similar for Sharks jerseys.

Cool website, thanks for that. Only looked at the big Melbourne clubs. Only subtle variations over the past 50 years or so, the jerseys are still instantly recognisable. I like that.

I thought school only just went back? Surely the new kindy class couldn't of pumped out their first craft project so soon.

Who is gonna wear that rubbish and for which match?

With any luck the Newcastle test match. The Kiwis will wear Knights high viz jerseys, and before the match perform a war dance in honour of scaffolding.

The Goon-O-Fortune. Nothing brings a group of Aussies together more than the traditional Aussie pass-time!
