Flanno being in charge of Sandow would be like an octogenarian driving a drift racing car to the bank to cash their pension cheque
Sandow was still Sandow under Flanno's dad Ricky Stuart. Ricky dropped him cause he's sticky and hates halfbacks that aren't him. Robson is poo under Flanno cause Robson is poo

Flanno's structures might strangle our team, but they are not stopping players like Barba and Bird more or less playing their own game

Just a little on the side please
Gravy - I suggest Dianne. Pepper didn't work with DCE

**** me - I still say - give Murphy a ****ing go FFS

That's the million $ question I want answered as well, its not as though Robson is killing it, surely he will get a go, knowing our luck he'll end up getting a go late in the season when its too late, he'll probably have a decent game & we'll end up thinking, what if?

Work colleague.

He wants to stay at the Roosters however we have apparently made a very large offer.
I hope this is true. Isn't all class, but definitely an above average half. If we were to land him im sure we could find a suitable partner in our squad to partner him.

I heard it was because Murphy "wasn't physically ready" and needed to add a few kilos. It seemed weird to me, because Val isn't exactly a unit

What's your alternative?

Mitch Cornish. I don't care that Ricky dropped him, he's still got a bigger upside then Sandow, he's got his best football ahead of him, a Townsend/Cornish combo can definitely work, plus he doesn't come with the baggage and off field risk that Sandow does, plus he's more consistent. I'm sick of recruiting the NRL's problem children and waiting for it to blow up in our face. Cornish over Sandow anyday of the week.

Yeah fair enough CM. I'm yet to be convinced on Cornish from what I've seen so far though. To me Sandow is a last resort for one full year only (2016).

I want to see Murphy in the side as well But you can't compare Murphy with Val in relation to size as Murphy would constantly have the bigger men running directly at him in defence. Whereas Val mostly has wingers (granted some of those could be the size of a FR) running at him.

I still think it's BS thou. Give Murphy a shot in first grade and then we will know for sure!

Snowman has already called out such sentiment and rationale as this from a previous post for what it is. Ridiculous

So you don't sign a player that is an obvious upgrade on what we have because he won't win you a comp? Why sign anyone at all then? We haven't won the comp ever regardless of who we have signed or what we have done and winning a comp comes down to alot more than just who simply wears the 7 on his back.

Tell me mate, who is this magical silver bullet blue chip halfback that is actually available on the market and comes with a premiership guarantee written around his neck and whom will also sign with us within the next 4 weeks?

I would rather be making a step in the right direction and winning more games, mixing up our style than maintaining the status quo and holding out for someone or something that may or may not ever be there for us

Our current half back is 80 mins worth of disaster
But that's my point all along Gards. Stop looking for the ready made silver bullet, look for the guy who we judge may become the silver bullet. Thurston was not a silver bullet when he was signed from Canterbury.

Sandow is a known quantity. Sign someone with some blue sky, some unknown. At least then you have a shot of ending up with a gun and it costs you less to do. And there are plenty of examples of it working as I mentioned earlier.

Given a choice last year of signing Austin or Reynolds from the dogs who would you pick? And who would pick this year?

Mention of Will Matthews on sportal being in contract negotiations with us. Hopefully true, really solid defensive 2nd rower/Lock. Though likely false, you know, because sportal.
Cheers Sutty. It's such a Flanno signing isn't it? 27 years old and plays next door.
