The NRL are retarded hypocrites, but it's not an elaborate conspiracy. They think the Gold Coast area is more important to their growth than the Cronulla area, so they are giving them BJ's to keep them afloat.

But yeah, realistically if we don't get him, hopefully Gold Coast are the ones to have him. If they overspend their cap on one player they're screwed. Manly however have good talent scouts and have a habit of bouncing back, I'd like to make is as hard as possible for those wankers to bounce back again.

Theres more to a contract offer than a post it note with a number on it. There is figure break downs, clauses, conditions, allowances etc.
If the sharks were serious theyd have put a 4th year in the deal and also a possible salary increase with cap rises. He would already be an SF avatar if we did that

That's a question I have, why havn't we heard reports of terms longer than 3 years? You would think 4 to 5 years would secure him for the rest of his career and give him assurance around his future even if injury were to strike.
He will likely still be a decent player in his early 30's and didn't we extend Carney out for another 4 years or something. Whether it is DCE's management specifying 3 year term only so he still has options later in his career and a chance to secure another big contract I dunno

Tc got a 5 year reported 650000 ish a year deal. Which he played 6 months of.
Dce signed a long term deal in 2010 and was ready to bail on it after 2011. Maybe he is finally backing himself
