Not having a go at anyone or the poll, but I think there's a lot of room for people to know more about the history of our Club and the story so far. My knowledge is certainly sketchy at best.
Perhaps something for the Club to look at in the lead up to the 50 year anniversary.
Unfortunately, we haven't had a Wally Lewis, Johns, Daley, Cronk, Sterling, Cherry Evans etc. in the 48 year history of the club. Probably the main reason we haven't got a p'ship under the belt. I don't rate Kimmorley highly in his tenure with us. Will have to go with Tommy Bishop and Barry Russell. We have had quite a few capable halves, but none being consistently outstanding. Even Russell's career was hampered by injury, so he couldn't play at his best for much of his time here. Todd was never on the paddock that much for us, or was playing injured often. He could have been the answer, but we all know what happened there.
Sorry but Tommy Bishop was every bit as good a player as all of those aside from probably Johns and Lewis. He was also captain of England at a time when they dominated us and he got a team of kids (aside from himself and Cliff Watson) to the grand final. The fact Manly beat us was due to one amazing man being superior to anything we had at the time.
That man was Bobby Fulton and he was named one of the original 4 Immortals of the game.
That's why we don't have a premiership from 1973.... one Robert Fulton!
Yeah I remember Roy Masters and other coaches hammering Hartley after that performance. Think Graham Eadie did us a bit of damage in that game too.Yep & '78 was because of Hartley...

100%-and who do I recall Bozo said was the best player he played against/with? One Steve Rogers!
