Stating the obvious but Tommy by a bazillion miles.

Just on this, there really is no excuse for not selecting him, we all should know a bit of our club's history. It's like saying Ponting was a better bat than Bradman because you didn't see Bradman play.

On the other hand, if we haven't seen a player play, we can only rely on other people's opinions on how good he was, which has its own issues.

Not really. I get what you are saying. But seriously we all come from different eras, so basically its like saying if you arent a fan from 50 years ago, dont bother commenting.

Ive never seen or barely even heard of some of those early 80s or before players.

Fact remains, of all these top 17 players we keep naming, NOT ONE has raised the premiership trophy for us.

I picked Noddy & Todd, I would have Preston in my 17 as a impact/bench player, I feel bad I didn't have Tom Bishop in my team but I never seen him play other than a bit of GF footage, full respect to him & the people that vote for him as many many people older than me rave & rate him but my votes are based on what I seen. (Steve Rogers was a player I didn't see a lot of but the footage I seen he was all class so he got one of my centre votes)

Barry Russell was the best halfback since 1980 - blew the opposition apart with Paul Green and Mitch Healey runners up. I didnt mind Paul Bishop.
