Fox sports report just had quotes from every teams coach/ceo/footy manager.

Everyone said either no, not in our plans, we have our halves etc. except the sharks. Noyce said, we havent spoken to benjis management yet

No way to signing Marshall.
In the halves you need an organiser and an x factor player, which is why Robbo/Carney works well.
Carney /Marshall will give us a pair of halves that run sideline to sideline, not direct and neither can organise a team around the park.
Look at how good the Tigers are going with basically the same players as last year but swapping Brooks for Marshall

Happy for carney/Marshall at fullback in defense, but love the idea of having one either side of the ruck with Morris/robbo putting passed from dummy half on their chest... Is it that easy to switch to fullback in defense when the ball turns over....

So in the roosters last year who did the organising and who was the X factor. Cause in the grand final I didn't notice either of the their halves.

Its a fallacy you need this type of player or that type of player. You need skillfull players who can play footy. You then make a gameplan around what suits the team best.

Robson or Morris could direct the side quite nicely in a similar (but not as good) way to Cam Smith does at Melb.

In your head, rent free
agreed

best example is look at manly v cowboys on friday

thurston and lui played both sides of the field

foran and lyon only played their territory because of DCE injury, but DCE runs where ever he wants

You do need an organiser but they don't necessarily have to be the 6 or 7. In a lot of teams it's the hooker.

Exactly.

And maybe its time for carney adapt his game a bit. He can organise well ive seen him do it. He is nearly 28 he should not be relying on a player who stands 30 metres away to compliment his game.

I am worried that we sign Bunji and he turns out to be a flop. But **** we really have nothing to lose and all to gain. We ain't getting any lower on the table and with the forwards we have and at least one side of backs firing he really could create a fairy tale.

Or not but we will not have lost anything by trying.

I actually wouldn't mind Benji roaming and playing on either side. Just to make us a bit more unpredictable and harder to anticipate. He could still ball play like a half on the opposite side of Carney. but we could also use him coming round the back as a support player or whatever.

If anything we will gain a FTA circle jerk with Carney, Ryan and Benji all together.

Exactly. It's certainly a risk that he will flop, but we probably aren't going to sign anyone of his pedigree in the short term anyway. No harm in signing him for this year and next, IMO.

Define defence? Defusing bombs and kicks or tackling?

Defusing kicks and positional play. Tackling shouldn't be an issue for the fullback, most tackles fullbacks make are cover tackles anyway and that doesn't take a great tackler (look at Isaac Gordon). When the player is running straight at the fullback generally the goal is to force an error not tackle the bloke.

Get to the game, listen on the radio.

The exposure and market value is more important.

Not having a go mate.

I agree with you, 9 are a cancer and are a big reason why people hate their sides being on their station.

Constant ads and delayed games are pathetic. Something needs to be done.
