WOW!

What a win!

The enthusiasm we showed in that first half is what we need to do every week!

We should've come out after half time with that attitude. Flanno's ****ty defend-the-lead strategy is pure dicks. We could've lost this one. Glad we held on. Spewing not to see some tries in the south western corner in the second half...or actually at any point.

Agreed actually. Was frustrating to see the boys taking the 2 on every opportunity, because it was just inviting pressure if anything. We could of put the game to bed with another try.

Hate the be the buzz kill guys, but it wasn't that we lost our intensity in the second half, it was that the Roosters starting playing footy.

They calmed down and stopped trying to pull off the big hits and started to focus on their sets. That's when there attack started to flow and when our defense cracked.

heres what tallis had to say....

What an upset from the Sharks and what an important win. Cronulla needed to fire a short across other teams’ bows because it’s a four-team race at the moment and sides like Cronulla and the Bulldogs have been snapping at their heels. You need to be ready for a war when you play the Sharks and the Rooster went to Shark Park in hot form and didn’t quite dig in. Earlier in the week, Paul Gallen, said ‘we will beat them,’ and as a player, to say that to the media; for one you have to mean it, and two, you don’t want to show your cards. Cronulla don’t fear the top sides and that’s a great mentality to have. - See more at: http://www.foxsports.com.au/league/...m=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed#.UhtbcGTAmvE

I just watched the game, and WOW what a performance! Our forwards were amazing, as was Carney and Gordon!

Our outside backs were absent however, and the referees had a terrible game! I can't believe no one was sin binned, there was ample opportunity for that.

Great win, to do that in the first half to the competition leaders was unbelievable. The forwards all had good games particularly Gal and Fifita and that 1 on 1 steal from Hino was amazing.

2nd half was still getting nervous and thought the no try to the roosters was justified but only because of how they've refereed the obstruction/shepherd rule this season - if they didn't over referee this rule all season then it's a try.

Thought the referees were absolutely pathetic and are just looking to give penalties at every opportunity instead of just letting the game flow.

Home final would have been better at our ground but at least there's no trips to Canberra or Townsville first week.

There were some really good things and not so good things to come out of tonight. The positives exceed the negative.
1) 92% completion rate. You hold the ball you win the game. You drop the ball you lose the game. One way of completing sets is to have massive go forward through the middle third of the field.
2) Gallen and Fifita as starting props give us the punch up the middle third. Both their games last night were enormous. We will win more than lose if they are the two 'bookends' from now on. Gibbs, Ross, Tupou, Heighnington and Taga give us massive punch off the bench.
3) Our kicking game last night was first class. The chase was exceptional. On the back of huge charges up the middle, we put pressure on them from the word go.
4) We played to our strength which at the moment is our pack. ( With one or two changes to the back line, this side would be hard to beat.)
5) we have now beaten the top two teams. We don't fear either team, even they they have both beaten us this year.

On the other side.
1) Missed tackles have been an issue all year. We missed a lot in the second half.
2) I know we don't have the flair of other sides but the strategy of shutting up shop at half time is going to get us into trouble.

hey guys, well done, credit where credit is due. the refs, whoops I mean sharks, played very well tonight. seriously, when was the last time a team scored 4 penalty goals in a match? that knock on that was changed to a strip was a good laugh and our no try topped the lot. oh well, 1st place is still ours, and although we may not win the premiership this year, it makes me feel better knowing neither will you. nor have you ever. nor will you ever.

No need to be a sore loser mate.

Easts were due for a loss and they got that wake up on the back of an unbelievable performance by our boys tonight.

If you seriously believe the refs were biased towards us, the penalty count was 11-10 in your favour.

To say I am still in shock this morning is the understatement of the year.

I haven't stopped smiling since the fulltime siren went.

It was brilliant we bounced back from a ****house performance against the Goons down in the Gong to put in one of the most epic first half performances I have seen from anybody.

Second half wasn't that flash but we already had the game won at halftime.

I just hope we can put in a similar performance to the first half for the rest of the season, starting with the Cowgirls this weekend.

Even if we do get a home semi final it won't be at Remondis Stadium.

Thanks to the neighbours from north of the Tom Ugly's, the home ground final got scrapped a few years ago as we all know.
AS much as I'm willing to put the blame the Mergers for just about anything, the cry babies at the telegraph are the true culprits in that one.

Great win we were never going to dominate and contain aside like that for 80mins we won the only way we could dominating first half and defending the lead in the second half.

The thing i liked when the bell rung JWH went around to all our player hugged and genuinely shook there hand and congratulated them. He obviously respected the effort our side put it.
