I am allowed to dislike Dykes as well. He was a 'hog', kept the ball to himself and tried all sorts of tricky manoeuvres that woredk for players like Lockyer or Daley but didn't work for him.

Sort of Agree with Dykesy being in there, dodgy defender, hit and miss in attack.Didn't always deserve some of the crap he used to cop from the crowd but.Favourite moment- last second matchwinner against Warriors in the wet i think..

yeah, that match was in Perth. That would be my favourite moment of his also

seeing names like - Adam Dykes, Greg Bird and Frazer Anderson in these teams just make me cringe. Also i dont get why people hate Nigel Vagana, Sure at centre he was **** again only coz we didnt use him correctly. But when we played him at 5/8th...... probably one of the best number 6s we have had

The fact I dislike Bird makes you cringe? Really?

If I was picking the best Sharks side of this millennium, Bird would be in it for sure. Although he was quite a hopeless player for the first four years of his Sharks career, he had three really good seasons for us in the back-row between 2006-2008 and - as a fan of the club - I appreciated how well he played in those years.

But that doesn't change the fact that I once loathed seeing him in Sharks colours, for committing the worst on-field act the NRL's ever seen, on Shane Marteene in 2004. He then went on to commit what is almost certainly the worst off-field act by any NRL player, when he glassed his girlfriend and nearly cost her the sight in one of her eyes.

Yeah, I see what you mean. How could such a stand-up guy like that be disliked by anyone?

You think hoppas hit on galloway was worse than birds knee?

I personally reckon that storm bloke that copped 18 weeks for king hitting that tigers player in 04 was up there with the worst.

But at the end of the day the worst on field act to ever be committed was Pomeroy playing 150 + first grade games for the cronulla sharks.

Yeah, that was really bad by Hoppa, but c'mon!

You can't compare an extremely reckless shoulder charge gone wrong on someone hitting the ball up, to a vicious knee to the head on someone who has his face pointing directly to the ground. One is an automatic send-off, the other is a dog act that only a complete low-life would contemplate doing to another person.

Danny Williams was his name and Mark O'Neil was the unfortunate recipient...and yeah, I would rate that as the second worst behind Bird's knee.

There is a bit of a lesson in there for those that are harsh on the young guys that come in to first grade and don't make an instant impact.
