You're disillusioned because someone who was never really voted on to the board, let alone chairman, stepped down?

Agree with your sentiment ... I dont really care as long as we have a team to play each week ... its about the boys on the paddock! The more we focus on off field issues the more damage we do to the club... It's about football for me ..winning games an competition!

^^^ This. I've been vehemently anti-drugs, anti-cheating my entire life, and I've ripped into people guilty of either or both things often in the past. I'd feel a right royal hypocrite cheering for a team that I - stress, I - believe contains people I deem to be 'cheats' or illicit/illegal drug users, whether deliberate or unknowingly.

That said, the entire thing is working towards a resolution now and those I consider most at fault (Elkin, 'The Four', and to a degree Flanagan) have now paid a price equal to or greater than the fate that befell the previous board - That is, their failings are now in the public domain and, essentially, they've largely paid for their mistakes. Those that haven't - Elkin, in particular, and possibly players who circumvented their coach and club doctor post-May 29, 2011 - well, their day will come. It's not a matter of 'if' anymore.

So which are the illicit and illegal drugs?? I missed that bit.

Anyways, I admire someone that stands by their beliefs even though I think in this saga you are being pretty black and white without knowing all the facts. Sounds like you might need to find another team to cheer for in the mean time until that day comes.

What a totally **** comment to make ... Go play with your barbies then mate !

Has nothing to do with barbies.

Illicit drug use is rife in society.

What's to think young men earning big dollars with spare time are going to be any less inclined to use them?

Your the one who should be playing with kids toys if you can't see that reality.

****ing muppet.

****ing hell, settle down champ, things aren't THAT serious!

Seriously though, I'm starting to get an inkling of how the die hard Souths and Norths fans felt when they were unable to support their teams. OK, entirely different causes, but same gut-churning emotion I'd reckon.

Your words, not mine.

Yeah, they are 'my' words.

Point is, my support for this club will outlast this crisis, it will outlast the tenure of any current player or official, it will outlast the term of the current board.

I firmly believe the Sharks - as a club - have done wrong, and I firmly believe those in power at the club now know this. Some of the people responsible have paid for their failings, those that haven't yet, or those who have moved on, most certainly will.

Once that is done, I will be confident we're a 'cheat-free zone' and I'll happily support the new-look club until Harold Holt comes home, and beyond.

Well, I still want to see Dank and Elkin swing from a Gallows, and I think infractions are a painful but necessary thing for us to face in order to properly move on from this, and yes, I think a small number of blokes could be - and SHOULD be - in strife.

I still love my club. That's never changed.

You can be as angry as all Hell at your best mate sometimes. He's still your best mate.

Thank god we have some responsible people running the show now. All we need is the fractured support base to unite behind the board and support them. Its great to be winning on the field and off again.

That's uncalled for, Ben. There was a ****load of winning done off the field over the past four years. ****loads. Be critical all you like, but if you dismiss the property development approval and operation of our club with stuff-all money out of hand you do yourself a massive disservice.

They got a property development approved, big deal. How many major sponsors do we have? None. Why as you state did the club have "stuff all money", I suppose because it was being well run.

Don't try and tell me it was well run when without that development the Sharks would probably be out of the NRL. Facts are the right people are now running the club, and thankfully there are more members who have seen what's been going on than some of the irresponsible rubbish I see written in this forum. Those people have all been proven wrong. If you think they were doing a "good job" why have the members kicked them out? Oh yeah it was media driven, wasn't it. What a load of rubbish.

If he has no idea, what idea do you have? Absolutely none. Are you a voting member of the club? I doubt it.

This comment alone speaks volumes as to how completely clueless you are.

"Clueless", as opposed to you who says "Damian Irvine should have been re-elected" and pushing his barrow. How much corporate & brand damage do you think he did to the club with one comment? And I hear you trumpeting on about the new board and criticizing them when they've been there all of how long, and criticizing directors for being away when Irvine himself was away when he had "to attend to business", and then comes back and says publicly players were taking horse roids in front of the media, great PR job that one and way to protect your club and players. I'd say with your analysis of the situation you're completely and utterly clueless about business. "Clueless" you say(property development) lots of intensive negotiation involved, even you could perhaps negotiate it, but I doubt it with your completely and utterly biased views. I am just glad you hold no sway on anything in this club, maybe just on this internet forum, because it's obvious you have no idea as it's indicative of the opinions you hold & what happened at the board elections. Enough said.

Anyone who thinks the property development was not a 'big deal' has an agenda against those who got it through. Plain and simple.
