Yeah pretty much expected, get a win in front of a big home crowd on Sunday and all will be forgotten!

Thanks to Glenn Coleman for doing as good a job as possible through this mess

Can Keogh become chair now? What are the constituational implications?

Wouldn’t Sorenson be the only one with the adequate membership? Are there other football club members on there? Or does that just not matter mid-term? Or will they just ignore it and vote unanimously in favour of Keogh anyway?

I always thought of his as an interim chairman. I don't care that he stood down at all. I care about what it says about the new board that they now have complete power despite the position they were in pre-election.

They basically have massive shoes to fill and no good will that will give them any excuses if they aren't up to scratch.

The old board could have always argued they were working for free to fix a team and no one else was putting their hand up. The new board unethically gutted a highly-functioning board because they reckon they'll do a better job.

The old board were victims of a perfect storm. For the ASADA saga to break when it did, and for the election to have fallen in the midst of that storm, well...just a recipie for disaster. By the same token, 'Unity' was conceived in the maelstrom, by the maelstrom. It wasn't like they strategically got together six months ago and started planning their coup.

Anyway, they're there now. Don't **** it up, Keogh.

Probably the most objective post you've had on this subject mate. I agree with your last comment too. Don't **** it up Unity.

If the old board had not made the 'management' decisions they did on the eve of our first home game, they would have been re-elected. All storms pass!

i was about to ask the same thing, but i think he said it was more to do with not supporting cheats

^^^ This. I've been vehemently anti-drugs, anti-cheating my entire life, and I've ripped into people guilty of either or both things often in the past. I'd feel a right royal hypocrite cheering for a team that I - stress, I - believe contains people I deem to be 'cheats' or illicit/illegal drug users, whether deliberate or unknowingly.

That said, the entire thing is working towards a resolution now and those I consider most at fault (Elkin, 'The Four', and to a degree Flanagan) have now paid a price equal to or greater than the fate that befell the previous board - That is, their failings are now in the public domain and, essentially, they've largely paid for their mistakes. Those that haven't - Elkin, in particular, and possibly players who circumvented their coach and club doctor post-May 29, 2011 - well, their day will come. It's not a matter of 'if' anymore.

If you support any professional sports team you are supporting people who use illicit drugs.

Fact of life.
