What's rule 42?

Gotta admit that this other ticket is coming across as a bit of a shambles. I was speaking to someone the other day who insisted that Keogh was running for the chair. Are we certain that he's not eligible? It sounds like he might not even know that he's not eligible.

its definitely keogh running for the chair.

and when asked, he said he was eligible

According to the notice in the Leagues Club foyer, Keogh is yet to establish his eligibility to run for Chairman.

Just watching the swearing in of the ministers for federal labor and the events over the past 2 years since the Rudd spill - does anyone else get the same feeelings about the rebel ticket or is it just me

Fitz - you say his eligibility is yet to be established.

I'm genuinely ignorant about how this process works... Is this something that is likely or even possible to be changed at this point? Or is it locked in place?

no offense directed at you either fitz, this whole thing is just **** in the scheme of things

Couldn't agree more... had all of this ASADA stuff not blown up, I seriously doubt that we would be having any of this discussion at all.

The timing of this Board election couldn't be worse.

The General Manager of the Leagues Club, Jeff Morris is the Returning Officer. A part of his role is to ensure that every nomination is compliant with the Club's constitution.

The fact that Keogh is still listed as "TBC" would indicate to me that the Club records do not indicate that he is a Football Club Member with voting rights.

I'd imagine the onus would now be on Keogh to provide proof of his eligibility.

Nice of them to thank you for the tag line and idea, Fitz.

This mob are starting to **** me.

Is Keogh even eligible to be Chair? Has that been determined yet?

Paul McCarthy.

Conspicuous lack of specific information on his profile. No pic.

I was raised and educated in the Sutherland Shire while playing numerous competitive sports

^ Bit vague

There was a Paul McCarthy who played lower grades for the Sharks in the 80s. He was De La Salle born and bred.

Anyone know if this is the same bloke?

Impressive CV's.

I seem to recall the present board, what's left of them, all had impressive CVs as well though.

We should be careful not to get caught up in this "successful businessmen" hype.

I understand that information is sparse and for many of us all we have to go on is the written word of a CV but take it from someone who has done a lot of major recruitment work that many, many CVs may as well be written on Sorbent.

Nit picking now but for me it is pretty poor that their website doesn't have some sort of medium for asking questions. I for one hate having info forced down my throat with no opportunity for clarification.

**** the impressiveness of their cv's, give me results.

What have they done? What major achievements can they quantify in recent years?

For example: Craig Douglas is the financial toiler who turned around our finances over the past 4 years, including an 18-month period where he met WEEKLY with senior bank execs to keep them from foreclosing on our loan.

THAT is impressive.

When I start reading some verifiable examples of similar deeds by other candidates I may be impressed.

We need new faces to guide this club forward.

The more I think about it, the more DI cannot be involved. His slip of the tongue would be like Tim Cook saying "Samsung make better products than us".

We can't afford another Chairman who is not tried and tested in the business world. The passionate supporter experiment failed.

So the property development is a failure?

That'll do me.

The one area - the LONE area - Irvine's board had minimal involvement in was footy operations, because they trusted a group of appropriately qualified and supposedly trustworthy senior staffers.

Every aspect of our club where Irvine, Douglas and their board colleagues were heavily involved has been positive overall.

It's been said to death, but without those two 'experimental passionate supporters' you would not have a club right now. That's an undeniable fact, yet you're writing them off as a failure.
