It was fine. Happens every single week.I don't think we even used a challenge... not that it mattered, cos the Bunker supposedly checked everything and said it was fine.

If that was a no try, then so was Ben Barbas in our grand final because our forwards had a lot of Jesse Bromwich in that scrum.Part of the reason for that imo is the gap between Luai and Munster was the biggest gap on the field between a play and his opposition. Luai was okay but added by far least of the 4 halves.
I thought that was really bad. He was impacted as much as an obstruction they’d call back… hell, he was impacted as much as Cardigan was in the Paulo no try
Have to agree. It can't be the scrums job to unbind fast enough to form a solid defensive line.If that was a no try, then so was Ben Barbas in our grand final because our forwards had a lot of Jesse Bromwich in that scrum.
Its what you do in scrums, hold so you dont collapse.
Forget about Klein being the worst referee in the NRL , with the domination of Munster & DCE plus speed of Qld play the ball in 2nd half NSW were lucky the score didn't blow out more .Munster and DCE scrapped a lot harder than Cleary and Luai.
yeh, its a knock onThat was not a knock on. He wasn't playing at the ball, was making a tackle.
Looks like Cleary went one way and Teddy the other? I imagine the important thing is numbers not so much, marking your opposite number.Cleary is no-where to be seen, so I guess he wasn't asigned to his opposite number or just stayed on the wrong side of the scrum and decided not to follow DCE.
Its way harder to do in the NRL cos it gets reffed differently... but if you look at last year's finals series, it was happening then (cos its also reffed differently). No one ever pushes up on Cleary and forces him to rush, defence stands off him all game long, until now!
Longer ruck time and no penalties or restarts helped that but can see teams try it out
I hope Canterbury appoints him just for the lols.Fittler once again proved he's not much of a coach... but surely everyone knows that by now?
Meant opposite number just in respect to it being the 7 directly opposite him at the scrum. By not following DCE Clearly left it to the forwards to cover him and basically hoped there would be an overlap.Looks like Cleary went one way and Teddy the other? I imagine the important thing is numbers not so much, marking your opposite number.
And both missing the best player in the gametwo teams have really been ****ed on by the 6 agains this year
Manly & NSW
While I don't think there was no holding in our scrum I do think there was quite a bit of difference, especially in the optics of it where there is clear video showing Paulo trying to pull free and unable to.If that was a no try, then so was Ben Barbas in our grand final because our forwards had a lot of Jesse Bromwich in that scrum.

I hate that that rule and wish it was applied more like a charge down but yes it's a knock on.yeh, its a knock on
happens every week
That's ok mate - if it starts occurring more regularly then the NRL will simply add another interpretation to the rules to suit. While I don't think there was no holding in our scrum I do think there was quite a bit of difference, especially in the optics of it where there is clear video showing Paulo trying to pull free and unable to.
And these days the optics of obstruction are a big thing, the slightest touch if you throw your hands up it's obstruction in a try scoring situation.
From last nights video you should now 100% expect props to fully hold each other in scrum.
Speaking of rule changes, I'd like one to occur. I think at the end of the game, if the ref calls held before the buzzer then the ball should get played. It's happens all the time now in origin/big games when it's close they just hold down on that tackle so time runs out. As fans, we are robbed of that last play after the siren that is so damn exciting. That's ok mate - if it starts occurring more regularly then the NRL will simply add another interpretation to the rules to suit.
The ref can still call a penalty.Speaking of rule changes, I'd like one to occur. I think at the end of the game, if the ref calls held before the buzzer then the ball should get played. If last night finished on a right shift and a try in the corner against a retreating defence, or an amazing try saving tackle it would have been amazing theatre.
