This would help massively in getting the stadium funding:

Was thinking about that reading the posts above. Would be great news and wel overdue!
That would be great, I'd take more of an interest in it if we had a team.

The NRL shafted us in the inaugural season stating that we were to close to the dragons geographically, even going as far to say that had the Sharks requested an NRL mens team (assuming that we weren’t already in the comp) they would have refused us for the same reason!!!!
I think that might have been greenturd thou and he is no longer around, so we might be in with a chance!

We will need to attract all our superstar players back from other clubs thou!

Everyone keeps saying it could have been handled better . So could you explain to me how replacing a coach could have been handled better?
Have a look at what a mess it was, do you think that is the absolute best possible outcome? I’d suggest it isn’t

Bomber should have been afforded the opportunity to interview to continue the role (even if that was just for show). I understand the need for some of the blind side element but he deserved to at least feel like he was considered.
Additionally supposed leaks disparaging his coaching make the board look/feel better about the decision but they are also not the right thing to do by him.

Bomber had the best interview - he was head coach!

Once the club decided to move in a different direction there was no way they could keep him on. As soon as Fitz was signed it would of got out. Fitz after all was recruiting players whilst still at the Roosters etc.

He wasn't the only one who went hard at the club and is now very very quiet
Agree . a fella called Buzz Rothfield was the one who generated a lot of the misinformation at the time to suit his agenda & he is not now quiet .

He now sings a different tune praising the club's management & has found others to pick on for a story .

Hahaha so give the guy a fake interview…. That’s how it could have been handled better. Right.

Also he was the actual coach, he was literally in a position to continue the role. Of course he was considered.

We’re coming 3rd so I’d consider the outcome pretty good!

Even if you’re pretty sure you’re going another way an opportunity to state his case doesn’t seem like a big ask, does it?

He was the actual assistant coach and I bet they still spoke to him before they made him head coach - the staff/board and coach are allowed to interact. They are allowed to have a conversation with him and not just judge from what they see from the stands.

He was already coach getting reasonable results in tough circumstances and doesn’t even get a conversation about keeping the job. How about some feedback about concern around the supposed flip flopping if it was such an issue? Is that an unreasonable thing, that an employer discuss some feedback rather than just let it go and not renew your contract?

I think there was a way to come out the other side having shown Bomber a little bit more respect.
But if you think that is the absolute best way the whole thing could have been handled then you do you.

This is the reason why I do not care about the women comp.

If we get in then it’s a different story but I will always be bitter about that. Especially since we were advocating so hard for a women’s league. Instead they gave a license to Roosters with all of their 5 supporters.

Dragons and geography excuse is the stupidest thing I heard since there are like 15 teams from Sydney. Did they expect us to support the Dragons just because we are 30min drive from them? Of course not, it was just an idiotic excuse.

If you go back through the stories, the NRL not only gave the Roosters the license, but it actually caught the Roosters off guard because they didn't even put a bid in and weren't planning for it

Put on a show & waste everyone's time. Then complain his sham interview was an insult.

There's no perfect break ups. Quick is usually best though for everyone to move on.

I really like Bomber and was disappointed for him at the time but I feel if we stayed on that trajectory we would be more like the Bulldogs and Trent Barrett about now.

How far does 50 mil go as far as stadium renos are concerned?

If I remember correctly Bankwest cost around 300 mil.

We’re already better than then playing under full cap, but okay
Fitz seems like a decent hire but don’t need to disparage Bomber like that do we haha

Not usually good form to break up with someone by them finding out you’ve already asked someone else out while still dating them…
