I would prefer a bench like this
14. Uele
15. Talakai
16. Hunt
17. Williams

Swap McInnes to hooker to give Brailey a break, then bring in Williams at lock. Then bring Brailey back on and give McInnes a rest, if needed.

That's an intimidating monster bench. I really like it.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Moyza on the bench though, with Trindall starting in the halves.

Happy for Moylan to prove me wrong, but I just don't see much of his worth on the bench or on the team.
Yep agree.

He is more of a disruption then anything. Trindall was well and truly hitting his strides at the end of the season and really made huge improvement. Having Moylan there consistently changing the half pairing does not give the team any consistency (not to mention he is a shocking kicker which has gotten worse over the last 2 seasons)

Not to mention a trindall / Hynes pairing looks like a proper 6 and 7 pairing.

A Mythlan / Hynes pairing looks like 2 number 6’s

There was a plan last year of Moyza coming off the bench, defending in the second row, and playing a roaming role in attack.

The plan didn't eventuate for various reasons but it was a plan at one point.

Now that Wadeo's back we have the different point of attack anyway I guess.

I like that bench and definitely think it can work.
But when one of those guys is looking at around 10 mins at best I think there’s a very strong argument to just leave them off and take a cover player.
Early HIA to a spine player you can’t do a good job of accommodating is a big hit in current game.
This becomes even more the case when there are some injuries so the last bench spot isn’t Williams but someone another one or two spots down the list

Don’t mind it but assuming Wade is your option if a half goes down ?

With that bench, yeah you go Wade into halves. If a WK was injured you go maybe Takakai into centres and Ronnie or Tracey to fb.
All of that can work but there may be value in instead of one forward playing 10 mins he plays 50 in cup instead and Miller/Metcalf/Tracey goes to bench and can cover all those spots without disrupting other combos and strengths to do so.

But people will just complain why even take him on bench if you’re only gunna give him 5-10 minutes when things go to plan

It's not important that we think it is a battle, but if pressure from Tracey did play a big part in his advancement then I hope Kennedy feels at least a bit of challenge...
I think Kennedy absolutely will have pressure on him in the form of Nicho Hynes.

If Nicho doesn't fire at 6 there will be calls to switch him to FB where he had his breakout year. If we are struggling after 10 rounds the media will be all over that.

I thought about that but I can’t imagine Nicho is training as anything but half currently so that’s probably not too much of a factor directly atm.

If anything Kennedy should look at that circumstance not as I need to play so well I can’t be shifted/dropped if Nicho sucks but as I need to play well enough to help keep this other fullback looking good in the halves.

Those two at half and fb as run/pass threats should be pretty fun

Yeah agreed that would be a much better mindset. Can't wait to see them run out together. 7 weeks or so now?

Moylan is either @ 6 of playing for the Jets.
14 for me Is Tracey.
14 is now a specialised position with so many HIA it’s nearly just as important as anyone else.
Tracey can cover anywhere from 1-7 & can fill in at 9 without needing to shuffle the whole team around.
If he isn’t needed to cover then can come on a fast footed back rower around the ruck for a short impact roll.

Would rather Moyza in the centres than Tracey though. If he's fit he'll be in the team I reckon.

*Bracing for a deluge of won't be fit anyway comments.

I'd be surprised if Moylan isn't next to Wade. I imagine Fitzgibbon will also aim to have a style like we did in '16, so that would mean he'd want his forwards pushing up in defense and bashing people. I doubt he starts Hamlin-Uele.

Isn't Wade the size of a small German tank these days? I think you might see Tracey slot in, and a Talakai or someone in at centre
