Yeah I think either Williams or Wilton good odds to beat Tolman but don’t think that’s an outrageous call. Dropping Katoa is some
Marge thinking he is the bulldogs hooker level confusion.
Yeah Fitzzy probably has only just started to think about his combinations now, he probably hasn't even decided on 5-6 of the spots yet. Fox is probably just having a complete guess.

Agree McInnes & Finucane middles . I was referring to wing/centre/back row combination .

I see Ronnie & Tracy both as attacking weapons but both with time-out lapses in defence , therefore not a great starting wing/centre combination in a season where the expectation is that we climb the ladder a few places .

I think we are short a standout 2nd centre at this stage & would prefer to see Ronnie / Ikavalu ( Centre ) combination first up with Tracy 14 unless Tracy has built up a fair bit in off-season .

Talaki was my vote for disappointment of the year last year behind Chambers after at least giving Chambers a couple of points for his ability to distract the opposition. ( Moylan wasn't a disappointment as I didn't expect much )

Agree that Kotoa is our 1st choice winger & plays alongside Ramien in Rd 1 .
Have I got selective memory because I hope Tracey kills it, or is his defence actually pretty good?

If he has learned that right to left pass I’m happy. He butchered multiple tries throwing it forward to his winger

Have we not learned yet that the majority of talk in the media during preseason is heavily flavored with layers of BS. I am including official Sharks media in that too btw. (Flanno's Mick Gordon will kick in general play comment still leaves me scarred)

We haven't even had trial games yet but somehow some genius reckons or has heard we would leave out 2 of our best and most consistent players in Katoa & Jack Williams. Wilton deserves Nikora's spot as well.

Barring some terrible trial form or fitness issues, leaving these players out is just handicapping oursleves from the start. Whatever plans or style Fitz has in mind I am sure he could make it work with these 3 players who are outperforming their counterparts in the same positions

If you had to drop a backline player it could only really be Tracey or Ronnie and even they don't really deserve it. This Roosters player better not turn out to be a turd

Fullback battle

Its not even a battle. Anyone who doesn’t think Kennedy should be lining up at fullback round 1 barring injury should just quit expressing Rugby League opinions, cause they’re not worth listening to.

It's not important that we think it is a battle, but if pressure from Tracey did play a big part in his advancement then I hope Kennedy feels at least a bit of challenge...

I don't think he needs a challenge from Tracey, Moylan or anyone else, I think Will wants to reach a higher level such as Turbo and Teddy. Not saying he is going to reach that level but I would hope that's what would be spurring him on.

I think at this stage competition can only benefit him. Different story for the other two you mentioned, they've been class for many years now. Will ain't that level yet.

it was mentioned that Tracey was a big part of his progress. Fitz mentioned that the results from the pressure from Tracey flicked a switch for him and made him realise the importance of hard work and how it pays off. I think his motivation would be internal at this stage (with how much recognition he got from last season) and like you said, would be wanting to get his name closer to those elites.

Doubt he flips straight from making a big jump largely due to pressure to not getting anything at all from being pushed though.

And while I am fingers crossed and knock on wood he plays out the season we can't have nobody else training at fullback.
I'd be running Metcalf, Miller and Dykes there too at times. Need to know what plan B just in case and I don't really want starting players being shifted there (Tracey if centre, Hynes and Moylan*).

*even if Moylan misses out to Trindall I still don't want him playing FB

I don't think there's any doubt the competition was a pretty big factor in Kennedy's improvement (which I think was more in focus and determination than talent). Kennedy must have realised or been told that's his future would be pretty grim if Tracey pushed him out of fullback.... Could you imagine? Doubt he'd have gotten a contract elsewhere with that resume

I just want everyone to feel safe in the knowledgethat they can't pick a worse side than Scott Pryde over at zero tackle.
