Poor using the bubble as an excuse as it also applies to 13 other teams. It is a mental toughness issue which is what we are lacking and hope Fitz fixes this.

On a side note, I said "mental toughness issue" and not "mental issue". I'll put it this way, if you are not mentally tough then I don't want you in my tribe in Flintstones (caveman) era. Life's too tough (game) to pander to the weak. Considering what we are going through, ffs they have it easy compared to many.

I'm guessing one of the first things Fitz will work on is our wrestle and controlling the ruck. Slowing down the opposition's play the ball and speeding ours up.

Major defficiency at the moment.

Bloody Oath
BUT, Storm got away with BLUE Murder all game
Was there any 6 agains that first half at all /
A LOT different to the first games this season, back to the bad old days

We were once just as good at the wrestle as them unfortunately that was 5 years ago and only lasted a season or two at best.

The current ref reading at the moment is that if it's a dominant tackle you don't have to release until the ref says "release" or "get up together" etc.

The good defensive teams bear hug, maintain eye contact with the ref and make the ref think he's in control of the game. Happy days.

This should be goal one! Win the ruck win the game.

Hope the coaches or club ask for clarification on the ruck speed tonight. We won the tackle and was held down with hands all over the ball.

Obviously there are times when the defenders win the tackle and can take that bit longer but thought the new six again rule was to penalise third man flop, hands on ball and slow peel.

Then there's the well-rehearsed methods of getting tangled up with the other player etc. Some teams are better at making things look incidental/accidental.

I was always thinking that the Ref should scream RELEASE , 1 , 2 , 3
Any hand on at 3 , an instant penalty , unless attacker milking by holding on themselves

Yeah the obvious octopus tangled up lay around the ruck. Plain as day, we need to improve and be smarter

NRL went over 100 years without players getting tangled now every tackle is like they have been tackled by an octopus!
