this was chambers best game for us - starting to look dangerous in attack and showing some of that class that once made him the best centre in the game

still some ways to go but shows even for an experienced player the value and need for consistent games back to back to find some confidence and form - we should keep this in mind with our youngsters

If chambers keeps it up dunno if we can slot dugan back in

even with 5 missed tackles as well
was smart his ball to ronaldo. drew in two and nice pop. over for a try

I think from memory at least a couple of those missed tackles was when he raced up to put pressure on the attacker. He may have got bumped off but still hampered the attack.

1 he slammed into someone and bounced off. Next 2 defenders were able to take him where the first contact was made

What I liked most was his shape when matched 2 on 2 against opposition centre and winger. Perfect positioning to cover a pass or a step back inside. His off ball defence chasing a break was nice too. Was directing Kennedy where to go. Thag sort of stuff is invaluable to a young player

I do remember that. good to see others cover when needed. happened a bit on sunday

thats what I thought he would bring is valuable experience to pass on to younger blokes

That flick pass back on the inside was great for the young uns. They have been guilty of staying out wide and running out of room (and getting bundled into touch) the past year or so.

His timing on some of his passes to set up his outside man is impeccable

is looking better in attack every game but FMD this bloke can come up with an ineffective tackle like nobodies business

hopefully improved fitness over the course of the season will help in this regard

Just got to tidy up the loose high shots. Can you teach the old dog?

He is an absolute pro and can tell he is a leader out there

He looks weak like a little lean for his body.. maybe you are right - a pre season under us might help him

Wouldn’t be surprised if Qld call him and Ronnie into the squad for game 2.

I would. No chance that happens.

Agree.
Ponga will come back and play 1, Holmes will make way and be moved back to the wing (meaning no room for Ronnie).
Chambers isn’t there yet in regards to match fitness.
He would give 1000% no doubt but not up to an Origin recall.
They do need another centre thou so they can move Capes back to the 2nd row (or off the bench).

Val will be in some trouble with the judiciary as well ...
