Soro to Penrith.

On the next update I also need to add Ieriko and Stonestreet to the list of guys at pre-season training.

Article put out by Sharks Media today (about fullbacks) states we have three open roster spots, but by our count we have only two. Wonder if there is an error or if someone else is still on our list that shouldn't be...

Probably Rivett. I added him to the dev list after that Bomber interview - but Rivett himself said on that podcast that he wasn’t going to be full time until 2022.

Likely 2x top 30 + 1x dev list spots available :)

I don’t know where to put this question so I’m putting it here:

If neither of our fullback options workout this year, there is basically no one worth signing who we would get for 2022. Just nobodies or guys who won’t leave where they are.

So considering we have a good crop of young outside backs at the moment, would any of them be an option as FB for 2022? Ferris, Hiroti, Jenson? I don’t know enough about these guys.

I'd be stoked if we picked up Drinkwater or Hynes as a fullback option. I don't have an answer for you from the other guys though.

I'm always wary of signing guys from the Storm, they very rarely kick on once they leave their system.

So what you are asking is ... if Kennedy, Tracey and Moylan are all let go and we sign nobody, what is our fullback depth?

- Metcalf is top 30 next year
- Lualua was the 20’s fullback in 2019 and is on the dev list. He’s playing wing this week in Flegg though. I reckon they see him as a winger
- Hiroti has played a little bit of fullback and could handle it in a pinch but imo his best spot is centre
- Ferris played a fair bit of fullback up until 2017 but none since
- Jensen is a centre/back rower who they are looking to turn in to a winger. Not an option for #1
- Dykes just did a full pre-season. He has primarily been a ball running 6, but it seems he is being shifted to fullback. A few of us think he is a chance to go up and get the #1 jersey in Flegg once the SG Ball season finishes.
- Trentham Petersen has been signed from the Knights and is playing fullback in Flegg this week. I don’t know much about him.
- Kyle Pickering just did a full NRL pre-season and is the second coming of Alan Wilson. I’ve seen him play every position except prop. Probably not a long term #1 option, but he could end up being a really good guy to have in the 21 each week.
- There was also some suggestion that Jangala Bennet is still part of the Flegg squad, but this is unconfirmed

If we let all three of them go unless Metcalf came into NRL squad at back end of this year (and perhaps even still) and was playing really well we'd for sure be trying to pick someone up from somewhere.

And he's still pretty young but there is also HM captain Siteni Taukamo, is he 18 next year?

Perfect, cheers. I can’t see Moylan being re signed and I’m not convinced he’s a fullback anyway. Regarding the other two, who knows? I was looking at players off contract for 2022 and we could easily get no one of note. So if that happened, what can we go? Cheers for the overview. Ferris having played a lot of FB is good to hear.

Born in 2004, so 17 this year and 18 in 2022. I believe when he was signed they said his deal included NRL pre-seasons for 2022 and 2023.

I must be the only Kennedy fan here. He is a reincarnation of Peach.

I’d actually like nothing more than for Kennedy to make it as our FB. I’m just not sure he’s strong enough, or can get stronger. I have the same issue with Tracey, although he’s stronger than Kennedy.

That said Kennedy is still pretty young, so there’s time.
