ScoMo, JoMo and Shau-Jo... we'll be okay.

But seriously...
What a knob. With all our history considered, he and the club still do something like this. So so dumb. Like, astonishingly pathetically stupid. Amateur hour.

What effect does it have on the team?
Fifita will be happier.
Gal becomes undisputed top dog... Lord save us all.
Wade is still on track to be our next captain, I don't expect him to go anywhere.
For most of the rest of the squad it should be business as usual.

For the fans?
We can't re-live that amazing GF win without every a-hole bringing this and the peptide sheite up every single bloody time. Thanks for the ring Flanno, but not thanks for the memories. Flanno could have been a martyr, but to me he is a martyr-focker.

For the sponsors?

Maybe finally we'll have a clean sheet and confidence moving forward that there are no more Flanno skeletons in the closet. Though I suspect it would take the front office 'accidentally' burning down, then a meteor hitting the earth and wiping out all of mankind, civilisation rebuilding from single cell organisms or evolved apes or something, NRL being invented and the Sharks (actual evolved sharks at this stage most likely) joining the comp to get us back on an even playing field.

For SF?
Is still our team. For better or for worse. And it's just a game. Enjoy!

Oh well all we can do is just move on now, I guess this brings up the official question, who is going to take over the role? John Morris, Trent Barrett, Jim Dymock, Adam O'Brian or someone else?

Personally I would like to see JMo or kimorley with Ennis as a full-time assistant. No to barrett

Yeah even in the best case scenario where we keep the premiership and there's literally nothing tainted about it at all, it's still going to be weird watching it in 10 years or whatever and seeing Flanno's face. It's definitely going to take away from it. It's a damn shame.

Only can we report a $50,000 irregularity, then loose our coach and cop an $800,000 penalty

The blind leading the blind

Thanks Barry top job champ!

Widen your perspective on this mate - the actions taken by coaching staff and the then board members should be what concerns you not the blokes who uncovered and declared it.

Don't miss the point, Barry hiding or ignoring issues doesn't remove or resolve those issues within the club; they still happened, they still exist. If you think every club operates like us but is just better at hiding the skeletons you would be wrong on the first part at least.

It's a wake up call - not an opportunity to bury more problems at Cronulla.

It's sad that to this day our club has not sorted it's **** out - let's just hope this is finally the start of that process.

This is so huge that I logged in. What's BlackWhiteBlue going to do about that tattoo?

Your brother just became the biggest 'Kyle' Flanagan fan in the world...

Yeah definitely a wake up call.

Getting away with cheating just makes people double down the next time. Better to cop punishment and eradicate the cancer than to go on blissfully unaware. We should have learned that lesson back then and didn't, now it's on us.

I'm with that aswell, I wouldn't mind seeing a former Cronulla player getting a gig like Ennis or JM but probably not Barrett who hasn't turned out to be a top notch coach. If we were to get someone else I'd be willing to give Dymock a go & I've heard good raps on O'Brian but I'm not sure who he is though.

Morris and Dymock to replace Flanagan as Sharks coach

John Morris and Jim Dymock will take over as interim coaches at the Cronulla Sharks after the club accepted the NRL's decision to de-register coach Shane Flanagan.

Flanagan was de-registered and the club handed a $800,000 fine after the NRL found the coach had been in contact with the Sharks while suspended in 2014, in breach of the conditions of his suspension.

Sharks chief executive Barry Russell said the club accepted the league's decision on Flangan but would appeal the extent of the fine.

"As CEO of the club we have to accept responsibility as a club we broke the rules," Russell said on Wednesday.

"If you break the rules there are consequences. This is a very disappointing day for our club.

"My thoughts go out to Shane and his family, from my point of view its paramount we provide him and his family with wellbeing and support.

"We have until January 31st to lodge an appeal, it's a substantial amount and we will be appealing that.

"The actions of past leadership, club officials and staff at this club.

"It is sad for our fans and players we are dealing with this.

"The integrity of our club and the governance needs to be first class."

I'd bring in Ennis in a bigger capacity and Lewis in some capacity.

The more senior people around the better

As I just also said in another thread is that something Ennis (or Lewis) would even be interested in?
Ennis has a good gig in media, if I was him I'd stick with that... it's safer!
But he has shown his expertise as a player has transferred very well into media and presumably would to coaching also.

Well the average IQ at the Sharks jumped upwards this afternoon. The enablers of this ardent stupidity on the Board, management and the footbal club need to be shown the door too.

I'm just hoping after all this saga just after joining Cronulla Shaun Johnson won't already terminate his contract with us! I'll be pretty dissapointed if he does.

I never thought in a million years that whoever our first ever premiership winning coach would be this hated among the supporters. But these are unique circumstances aren’t they?
