Looking forward to seeing him run out in Sharks colours. When does the season start again?
That feels a bit later than the past few seasons.
I've been watching a lot of Shaun Johnson highlights since we signed him. You only see the good parts, I know. But given how quality those highlights are, and how bloody many there are, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the most gifted all-round player we've ever had at our club.
The thing about SJ is that I wouldn't really call him a rocks and diamonds player in the mold of Carney, Maloney, Milford ect, ya know talented halves that on their day can pull off amazing plays but also make brain dead plays or errors at other times.
SJ is either on fire and electric or just kinda there but he isn't stinking it up or making a mountain of errors or bad plays either. For all his dynamic exuberance he's a fairly sensible player and his short/long kicking will also be an asset. He can be quite adept at getting repeat sets or getting kick receivers turned round and into awkward positions on the field. The biggest criticism he cops is "going missing" or not "taking control".
The point I am making is if his "bad" is simply lack of involvement or direction that will improve with time at the Sharks. SJ won't cost us any games (*cough* maloney..) but I think he can win us plenty.
We are on a good wicket with SJ, but unlike our aussie batsmen in Adelaide we will actually take advantage of that.
Here's hoping he won't have to do that.
Chad should be doing all the controlling while SJ runs the ball. He can pick and choose his spot and let CT organise the forwards and where we're going.
I'm banking on them getting their combo back together like they did at the Warriors.
This is Chad's big test though - if he doesn't produce the goods, he has FJ and perhaps Trindall breathing down his neck.
im willing to wager Jnr is given a good crack at making the 7 his, he knows it too.
I thought Maloney was more bent out of shape by how much drags paid hunt. (I may be wrong though)Wasn't the whole Maloney issue mainly because Chad was on a better wicket? No way Jimmy was on less than 600k

FMD we are measuring players value by their social media followers now? I get that SJ has a profile which can attract new fans and sponsors but if he stinks it up on the footy field there is no way it will be considered a good signing. If he was that valuable why did the Warriors let him walk? Do they not care about fans and sponsors?
