josh hanney has been playing for toowoomba and not standing out.So what he played state of origin that was only because they had nothing left.i have mail devere is a chance,he is alot better player kicks goals and you can sign him for only a year .If he doesnt aim up his gone, but he has been playing very well in england.i also heard nutley rang the sharks give him the money he wants at least he will put his heart and soul into it

I would rather sign fraser anderson than hannay.Abig young kid that has ability and would cost no where near enough. It wont be as an expensive mistake as if we buy hannay. On signings our big buy or only buy of the year is stapleton what is going on why doesn't anyone want to come here .it points to no confidence in the sharks management.Players want to join clubs for a few reasons ,to play with other quality players,a chance to win the comp, play under a good coach, play under good management producing a strong club , a good area to live in and money.
Do we have these things maybe not.We upgraded alot of player payments this year .giving us less bargining power. You see other players at other clubs taking less to keep there team mates, not here .they seem they care more about there pockets than producing on the field. So far i haven't seen much repayment back to the club.As soon as the deals were done there football droped away as they were no longer playing for a contract. As it happens year after year around this time they start to slide is it just a coincidence or do they feel safe they have a spot for another year and become to complacent.
does anyone have any answers

put tosh in the centres! he will play well there...fast and zippy, also hungry for the ball

take beau scott out and put tosh there...maybe put albert to fullback or wait for simmo to get back

bott should also get a spot...take albert out??? bott is hungry for the ball and could be a great asset for FG!

my team for later weeks would stand: (when simmo gets back)

1. Simmo
2.Bott
3.Vagana
4.Laiseni
5.Covell
6.Dykes
7.Kimmorley
8.Stosic
9.Kinga
10.Douglas
11.Thompson
12.Williams
13.Gallen

14.Bird
15.Maiava
16.Villa
17.Kearney

(*also maybe changing the halves with kearney at 5/8 and dykes/kimmorley at half back - one of the two in the team above has to come out in later weeks if we continue to lose!)

they have salary cap concessions-new club!

This isn't AFL mate, no salary cap concessions for new teams. Every team, new or old, has the same amount of money their allowed to spend on their top 25 players.

i think anderson would be a good buy to...however he wont be ready for first grade as of next year...he still has alot to learn however can be a great buy if we give him the support he needs...we need a centre for next year!!!

hannay is the only one with real experience on the market and who knows he may come up good...toshi should get a shot in the centres i think he will make a great FG player...we should also put pom or another rising star in PL a chance to play centre...it wikll be good for the coaching staff to see where players are at in terms of FG ability

Sharks still in talks with Hannay according to latest post on Sharks.com.au:

In other Sharks news, there have been no further developments as to the signing of Cowboys centre Josh Hannay. The Origin centre is said to be keen to join the Sharks, with his management and Sharks CEO Greg Pierce continuing negotiations.
Panther Craig Stapleton signed his two-year deal today and is excited about joining the Sharks for the 2007-2008 seasons. An experienced campaigner, Stapleton has played every game for the Penrith side to date in 2006.

it will most likely be pomeroy/anderson, leiseni is better on the wing or fullback

Scott is only yong too, don't forget, to say that he is a hack is far from the truth, yes he mistakes because he tries hard and does get involved, when he learns when to hold onto the ball and not push passes he will be even better, we would have been good to keep him.

No more with hannay he was good but has struggled all year and your only going to get anything out of him for a year or two.He wants 70 000 more than the sharks first offered but knowing there deals they will come to the party.I watched devere this arvo in super leauge he still goes alright i'd be pushing more for him if he is still interested.

if hannay is to be a shark next season he better not be paid over $180 000, if we do pay overs it limits our chances on other players

like nutley....

Raiders chasing Hannay

Looks like a tug-o-war is brewing for Josh Hannay. A report in the Canberra Times says Canberra is in preliminary contract talks with Hannay's manager. The Raiders plan to go all out for Hannay if they can't convince Adam Mogg to stay in the next two days. That's not good for Sharkies - Hannay's price will sky rocket. He'd probably prefer the small town lifestyle of Canberra rather than Sydney too.

Hannay

**** Hannay, If they want to waste their money, they can. I'd rather sign Mick Devere, he's not much but he's better than Hannay and would come alot cheaper ! Hannay's a vege !
