ABshark's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 3, 2010)
3 Points - Siosaia Vave: Gave him the three points for a good debut it horrible circumstances. If we hadn't been beaten so soundly people surely would be raving about this guy- took it up strongly against the big souths pack, really aggressive in defence. Looks to be really mobile and has a passing game. Stoked to see him go so well. (7/10)
2 Points - Anthony Tupou: Did well when he got the ball but certainly shouldn't be in the centres permanently (bort). What we saw was him running as a second rower with depth when he went one place wider. Improvement from him though, needs more footy. (6/10)
1 Point - Adam Cuthbertson: Improving week by week. Would be better with a bit more structure, hopefully will come with Smith. Should get a start next week ahead of Milo. (6/10)
- Albert Kelly: That sort of thing happens. Doesn't mean he won't make a fullback, just has some things to work on. With ball in hand, I thought he improved. (3/10)
- Blake Ferguson: Lucky try. Defended well and looked dangerous but still a lot of loose errors in his game- some horrible carries. Does have a knack for scoring though. (5/10)
- Nathan Stapleton: Did look a bit soft carrying on on the ground then dashing around to make a tackle a few minutes later. Looked okay at centre in attack, but thought he defended poorly- actually, he DID defend poorly, Champion got a double thanks to some bad reads. Don't see how he's getting MVP points. (4/10)
- Dean Collis: Missed the first bit, didn't see him. Hopefully fit next week. No rating.
- Luke Covell: Standard cov game. Wasn't great, wasn't the worst. Wonder why he's there for his leadership and defence last night when we looked liek headless chooks and were waving tries in down his edge. (4/10)
- Trent Barrett: Not much you can do when the blokes around you drop the ball all the time. Passing game was a bit off though, but just tackled all night. Personally, I feel for him- he didn't sign up for this. Then again, need better leadership and some calm and confidence from him. Will definetely go better with Smith taking some of the pressure off. (4/10)
- John Morris: Toiled. Not as bad at half as some suggest- an adequate spare. Didn't create much though (4/10)
- Kade Snowden: Disappointing. Got frustrated, gave away penalties. Guys like him, Baz, Doug, Toops, Stapo and Gal- our best players- all look so jaded atm. (4/10)
- Paul Aiton: His quietest game for us yet, but we were getting hammered. Not as bad as some though. (5/10)
- Luke Douglas: Tackles, better metres in the first half at least. Still playing too many minutes. (5/10)
- Grant Millington: Very very quiet game. Disappointing, and a soft miss on Best. (2/10)
- Paul Gallen: Got owned at times. Felt for him cos he always tries hard, but not a great game at all. Wonder whether some people watch or just assume he and dougie should get the points every week... (5/10)
- Josh Cordoba: Tried hard, lots of tackles. Gave away a couple of costly penalties though. May well be made a scapegoat for that one. (5/10)
- Stuart Flanagan: Looked sharp. Jeez we've got talent and depth at 9, he could be starting for some clubs... like the Raiders- what??? (6/10)
