bort's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 3, 2010)
3 Points - Blake Ferguson: Made a few errors with ball in hand but looked extremely dangerous, I maintain that (at least for now) his best position is on the wing. Notched up another try too. (7/10)
2 Points - Anthony Tupou: Looked very dangerous running around at centre and linking with Fergie and still managed 33 tackles. I honestly believe the Toops/Fergie combo may be worth points to us. (7/10)
1 Point - Nathan Stapleton: Isn't it nice having a centre that can pass? I thought Stapleton played very well and would definately like to see him play more in the centres, provided a fullback can be found. Does need to 'HTFU' a little though. (7/10)
- Albert Kelly: Made 4 of our sides 18 errors but was great with ball in hand. Showed great potential and if he had caught a couple of those bombs hed have got my three points and an 8/10 from me but alas he didn't, leading to 2 souths tries. Kelly cannot be allowed back into fullback. Definate half of the future and I think could go alright on the wing. (5/10)
- Dean Collis: Dean Who? Oh that injury prone guy that we signed from the Tigers? Everyone on here was so excited he was making his big debut and then (despite starting strong) off he limps. Sure this time it may just be a 'rolled ankle' but we can't afford to have players dragging themselves off the field at the start of games. (4/10)
- Luke Covell: 3 errors and a try. I guess compared to the rest of the side thats not so bad. Plus he can kick, oh, wait he can't kick anymore either it seems. He's no real use then, is he? (5/10)
- Trent Barrett: The inspirational leader of the Sharks. 8 runs for 48 meters and 5 tackles (1 miss) may yet explain our uninspired performance. You are ment to be our leader, try doing some of that. Kicked okay though... (4/10)
- John Morris: Probably the best game i've seen him play at half back and he didnt really do that much (and still managed 3 errors). Difference between him and porter? Minimal. (5/10)
- Kade Snowden: 10 runs 38 tackles is alright but I definately want more from Snowy, he has showed the potential in the past, maybe he needs to throw in a headbutt or a high tackle to get back into his zone. (6/10)
- Paul Aiton: Didn't really do himself any favours in regards to clinching the 9, I remember 1 really good run and solid defense, but Morris was managing that. (5/10)
- Luke Douglas: 13 runs 45 tackles typical workhorse game and managed to keep the errors out too. Much better meter gain and workload than his 100th although he did miss four tackles. (7/10)
- Grant Millington: 5 runs 37 tackles and he played almost the same minutes as Snowden, nothing really worth mentioning about Millo, as usual. (5/10)
- Paul Gallen: Easily topped our run chart but dropped a ball and got shamed by Champion and missed four tackles. (6/10)
- Adam Cuthbertson: 14 runs in 43 minutes makes him one of our hardest working offensive forwards. Managed 3 offloads but at the expense of 1 error, admittedly off his first touch so maybe he was just rusty. (6/10)
- Josh Cordoba: May like to consider making more than 7 runs but then his tackle count was decent. Needs to watch out for peoples heads, hitting his own and hitting his arm. All in all another less than noticable job. (5/10)
- Stuart Flanagan: In half an hour of footy he missed 2 (of 11) tackles and made an error. Looking at the performances of his competition I don't really see much reason he should be in first grade off this performance, but there was promised enough that I wouldn't be outraged should he gain more opportunity. (5/10)
- Siosaia Vave: Solid enough on debut, very limited game time and did very little with it, although we were well and truly on the backfoot by the time Vave hit the grass. Saw him get down nice and low to tackle someones legs at one point which is a good sign from a big fella. (5/10)
