I think he used to play for us but always seemed to be the scapegoat and he left.

He's a good player. How old is he?

I think he is 30.Ricky would be thinking #9 for him unless Busters form does not improve in which case Monaghan could be 7 and Buster 9.Ricky knows personally how hard it is to come back from a knee reconstruction. but even allowing for this, he is still expecting more from Buster.Ricky is a tough marker of his half backs. Buster needs to fire.Perhaps he could swap with Barrett, this could be effective, Busters form at 6 last year was outstanding.

Back to Zappia, I keep reading that there is more and more speculation that he is going to go back to Parra. Could this of been the plan all along from parra, send Zap away to get some experience then once the rebels win the election bring him back to replace Fitzy.
Any thoughts?

That's too old in my opinion, unless we get him really cheap.

I say stick with Seymour. If we need a new 7/9 we should buy the best young player we can. We wont have Barrett forever, we need young talent to fill the void.

Zappia on ABC Radio last weekend

The summary of the interview was:

- The future of the club depends on the proposal to council, which includes predominantly retirement living - and a shopping centre.

- The players and the board are 100% behind Ricky Stuart.

- Any reports of Ricky "blowing up" at training or after games are not true

- The club has identified outside backs and front row as recruitment priorities for 2010. Hooker and halves are also being looked at. Ricky and Zappia met with one player recently

- There are a lot of good hookers and halves coming off contract for the 2011 season, so the may decide to "stick with what they've got" to try and get some big signings for that year

- Rene Maitua was injured during much of the pre-season and is still a month off being fully fit. The club (including Ricky and Rene) would have preferred not to play him in the first 8-10 weeks, but with the injuries and suspensions it was necessary.

- Regarding Parramatta speculation, Zappia has committed to the Sharks that he will see them through the current hard times. The Sharks offered him a contract when he started but he has made the choice for himself that he would prefer to work under the current arrangement.

At the end of this the commentators added that Paul Gallen is playing awseome footy and that Trent Barrett was (at the time) the favourite to be selected at #7 for the country team.
