These interviews always seem so unprofessional. Why not give the players the questions earlier and work through their answers with them so they can articulate interesting responses, rather than generic cliches.

Suppose the ad lib question prepares them for life in the media more but seeing how young they are it's not a bad idea.

You think it will hinder them more than help. Let them get comfortable in front of cameras so they are at ease when released to the external media.

Did you watch the interview? This dude didn’t have a decent answer throughout the whole thing.

It’s not live, they could cut it and redo it, or edit it to make it better.

These boys just need more practice in handling interviews as they learn from mistakes. What counts is whether they can play. I am a Sharks fan who lives in the US. The big difference I notice in comparing the NFL rookies, is that the American boys are far more media savvy and confident. Eg, the Miami Dolphins spends time professionally teaching all their rookies how to handle these type of interviews - what they can say and what they cannot. Hopefully Briton Nikora learns from this and gets feedback on what he can do to improve. I notice that Valentine Holmes now answers the questions much better now.

Unless you are speaking to someone like Gal who speaks his mind or Maloney who will let something slip he shouldn't interview's with footy players are fairly pointless - more about ticking a box than adding much of value

It is nice to see our new boys in our gear and talking it up though

I disagree with you here mate. I think interviews with players are incredibly important for giving supporters an insight into their team and garnering more support.

As a paid member, I would like to receive more content like this. A lot more.

Like many here, I am an NRL nerd and read every article that's available. The more content the better.
