Blocker’s best take was saying Tolman came from a long way away to stop Val from scoring off the short kickoff.

Val got all the way to the try line where Tolman had to walk 10 metres to greet him as he was preparing to take the hit up off the kick off. Something Blocker did for a career.

excellent anticipation and reading of the play from Aiden  still had to make a great tackle on a much more agile player who had up a head of steam. stopped what would have been one of the greatest solo trys ever

plus 10 metres is a long way for a bloke essentially built like a rhinosuarus

The footwork to put Mulitalo over was pure class. Planted his defender like a statue to create the overlap. Real class. Has improved out of sight.

yea he is threatening the line with his footwork and agility alot more consistently now. defenders can't afford to hold off on him

most pleasing aspect is how safe he has become - if he didn't sort out the basics like ball handling, taking bombs ect the work in attack wouldn't be enough to be comfortable holding down the FB spot
sorting those things out has also improved his confidence and gives him a bit more leeway or brownie points to go after the game with the ball not that he strikes me as a player that would go into his shell or dwell on mistakes for too long but it builds trust with his team mates and coach

He’s not much of a talker is he, Will. Very quiet guy, but seems like a polite and respectful young fella. Probably good to have a bloke like that in amongst your Fifita’s, Toby’s and Ronaldo’s

Enjoyed the podcast by the way!

When I played soccer I was quiet as a mouse off the field.

But when I was on there, you could not shut me up.

made some impressive defensive plays today

my fav was that big tackle on Walsh who just burst through a hole , made a number of good and important tackles actually . was a big step up for Will in regards to the D

I agree. Thought he was great defensively.

Imagine we had moved on from him and signed Corey Allan. We would have been fighting for the spoon.

Seems likely enough he would have just beaten Allan for the jersey and we would have had another fit back in our squad to choose from

You're probably right. I don't doubt the confidence that was placed in him helped him on his way though.

He had to compete with Tracey though who has also been great for us this season (in various roles) so not like he was just told jersey was his

Yeah our good old fashioned pre season fullback off. Does the job once more.

Tracey looked shocking at FB in the trial and Metclaff while potentially a future option is even greener than Will. Moylan and Duges bodies arn't up for it long term either seemingly

If anything it reflects positively on Kennedy the improvement he has shown without a genuine challenger for his position (bar maybe Mozza) putting pressure on him throughout the season
