Really don't get all the focus on Kennedy.

If we cut our stupid mistakes out we beat Penrith last week and that will be our mantra for the year.

We have an extremely well balanced team that as a group still have a couple of levels to go. Hynes / Tricky still forming a combination and the whole team learning how to play with AFB.

Let's just enjoy the ride!
You need a razor blade here to enjoy the ride... No fun to be had otherwise.

I gotta hunch he is in for a good season, whether or not he re signs with us or not he’s gunna need to put himself in the shop window.
If he plays well, we may not have the funds to re sign him anyway, maybe Fitz had already made a call & has allocated that money to other recent re signings.

I save my razor blades for game day when we make all the rookie errors!
While I agree we made a few mistakes in Vegas (nothing new, we're accustomed to it), the Panthers were not exactly clinical either with plenty of dropped balls, our boy Laurie (since he's been the recent focus) even dropped a ball on 1st or 2nd tackle on his 20m line or thereabouts.

I'll assess our composure after a handful of games.

Keep the blades well oiled - just in case!

For next season we have Kennedy/Dykes off contract, plus Atkinson leaving. I'd be expecting we either re-sign both, or recruit two. 3 is the absolute minimum to take into 2026 given Ison's ACL. I'd also probably be happier taking in 4 with Dykes being able to play halves also. I also think we need one at least who is NRL established.

20252026
KennedyKennedy/Laurie
AtkinsonDykes/new signing if he can't stay fit this year
IsonIson
DykesNew prospect?

The other one to keep an eye on will be Fa'alogo. If Paps has a strong season, the Storm will no doubt be looking to lock him up longer-term before he's available again.

Given neither will break the bank. I'd be way more comfortable if we had Kennedy/Laurie on a deal including 26 sooner rather than later. One year would be perfect.

Faalogo I think will cost more than he’s worth.
Yes he can play some exciting football but you’re paying up for what he was able to produce in a grand final level storm side

Not to say he couldn’t also perform well off the back of us, just you’re paying the premium vs like an Ison we brought in younger

Probably right. But he could still be in a sweet spot of getting value for money like when we signed Nicho. Say you pay 500k a year for 3 years with some rep/finals bonuses tied in etc. It may not cost too much more.

He’s a good buy at that price
There’s usually sides desperate enough to hit on a fb they’ll pay up quite a bit over that for a ‘proven’ option from a good program

Fa'alogo sucks at everything but running in space at the moment.

People complaining about Will's defence will have be praying for him back after a month of Fa'alogo back there
