Agree mate, where do you rank him among the full back elite? Not top 3 still I suppose but surely 2nd tier?
currently? its pretty hard

id say dyaln edwards and reece walsh are 1 and 2

clint gutherson on form would be number 3

then you have to throw nostalgia in and have teddy somewhere

cnk, kennedy, ponga, brimson & drinkwater next

its a good crop of fullbacks

Agree with all of that but one.

I think nostalgia shouldn’t be considered cos let’s be honest, Teddy has fallen hard, bar a few sprinklings of good games here and there (maybe it’s the Roosters in general but Teddy doesn’t have the same presence as he used to IMHO).

i think the roosters stink hurts him, they create no space

he was the best fullback in the comp last year by a mile so nostalgia gets a run for him, it doesnt with turbo

good question about will, i will put it on the podcast today

They wanna play a fast down the middle play style but can’t keep the players they need for it on the park, meanwhile Teddy is declining (seemingly) while trying to do everything still.

Throw in they are struggling and he feels he needs to try and create opportunities for them.

Club and team aren’t doing him any favours but as captain how can he try and do less if nobody else will pick up the slack positively

Put him at fullback for Penrith or Brisbane and I reckon he’s close to getting picked for Origin

we were in front of the post game interview last night, and before channel 9 started, fitler had his arm wrapped around him and was talking in his ear

i reckon it was an acknowledgement that kennedy is in great form

however

fitler is a **** coach and i hope kennedy didnt listen to a word he said

Honestly I would pick him as fullback for NSW. Two reasons, he is so safe under the high ball and with picking up the scraps, secondly because he is amazing at providing the over lap and has great skill at bringing in his outside backs. For me this second point is largely why QLD has been so good in attack since Billy Slater and the reason why I think Tedesco is not suited to Origin. Papz was NSW best at this and Kennedy in his absence is the best at it. Better than Gutho and better then Edwards, who are both great fullbacks, I just don't think either are suited to the attacking type of game NSW should play.

Only knock on Will these days for mine is he's not great at getting his body under the ball on the try line, would be handy if he got a bit stronger/more upper body strength.

Love him though, absolutely killing it.

I'd agree mostly, but Will still has a problem with being manhandled. I don't think that'd work out well for him at origin level

Yeah I get what you mean, but in general Tedesco wasn't pulling off try saving tackles either. Gutho would be the guy for that and his attack sucks.

You know what my next call is?

Nicho isn't a 7.

Trindall is.

Nicho to 6.

Put the game management into Trindalls hands and let Nicho be a running player rather than an organisation man.

Moylan is a good organiser. Trindall is better.

Moyza is playing better than ever and I love him but I think we have to bring Trindall in as a starter.
