Some really bad guesses there and poor logic. According to your post we would leave eight spots in our squads empty. I'm sure that will happen.

How? With the players I've used we would have:

Firsts:

1. Gordon
2. Morris
3. Tate
4. Kahu/Leutele
5. Ryan
6. Carney
7. Williams
8. Fifita
9. Lichaa
10. Gibbs
11. Lewis
12. Graham
13. Gallen

14. Heighington
15. Tagataese
16. De Gois/Politoni
17. Peachey

NSW Cup:

1. Gigot
2. Moroko
3. Wright
4. Kahu/Leutele
5. Ratini
6. Manumalealii
7. Robson
8. Coates
9. De Gois/Politoni
10. Robinson
11. Sopoaga
12. Roqica
13. Masima

14. Feki
15. Mareko
16. Sorenson
17. Raru

So I forgot to add in the re-signings of a couple of the under 20's boys. But I'm sure Masima, Mareko, Sorenson and Raru would be very cheap.

I like Tate , great player and a good mentor , would help the likes of Ricky and Mills bring their game along, sign him for 2 years. What would he cost?

How much money do we have to throw around at other players?

Here's a list of our off contract players and my rough, rough estimates of how much they are on.

Jason Bukuya - $125,000
Rodney Coates - $ 50,000
Sosaia Feki - $ 50,000
Nathan Gardner - $ 150,000
Jon Green - $ 125,000
Ricky Leutele - $ 50,000
Stewart Mills - $ 100,000
Daniel Moroko - $ 50,000
John Morris - $ 125,000
Tyrone Peachey - $ 75,000
Pat Politoni - $ 50,000
Ben Pomeroy - $ 200,000
Alipate Ratini - $ 50,000
Tim Robinson - $ 50,000
Jeff Robson - $ 75,000
Ben Ross - $ 50,000
Tupou Sopoaga - $ 65,000
Nathan Stapleton - $ 100,000
Mark Taufua - $ 100,000
Chad Townsend - $ 100,000
Anthony Tupou - $ 450,000
Matthew Wright - $ 100,000

I'd defiantly keep Coates, Feki, Leutele, Moroko, Peachey, Politoni, Ratini, Robinson and Sopoaga for first grade and/or NSW Cup.

I'd keep Mills, Robson, Taufua and Townsend depending on if we sign players to fill their positions. Possible $ 375,000 to spend.

I'd let go of everyone else meaning we'd have 1.425 million cap space.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So Carney's contract went up $ 350,000 (I think) so that brings the total down to 1.075 million.

Now assuming to keep current players we'd have to increase their contract a bit, let's bring the total down to 950,000.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the 950,000 I'd throw $ 125,000 at Kahu, $ 150,000 at Williams and the remaining $ 575,000 at one of the Morris twins.

If we sign Williams and Kahu, I'd use some Mills, Townsend's (Keep Robson for NSW Cup as he'll be cheap) and Taufua's money to sign Wolfman on about $ 200,000.

That still leaves us with $ 175,000 and the cap increase to throw at someone like Tate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: The numbers I'm using are just my guesses, for all I know I could be waaaaaaay off, which would make everything I wrote pointless dribble.

Pretty sure you have under estimated 3/4 of that. Im pretty sure minimum wage is higher than 50k as well for a top grade player.

Well Jimbob I'll dumb it down for you.

You say you would release:
Mills, Townsend, Taufua, Bukuya, Gardner, Green, Morris, Pomeroy, Ross, Stapleton, Tupou and Wright.

To replace them you would sign:
Kahu, Williams, Morris, Wolfman and Tate.

12-5=7 So we would have 7 empty spots (I said 8 but at first I was thinking you were saying Williams and Wolfman as the same person).

Is that simple enough for you?

With those NYC players you named we have three empty spots and it takes some money away from our cap.

You don't need to dumb it down, I understand what you're trying to say... I just don't see the problem.

The three spots you're referring to that are being left vacant were our NSW Cup depth. This can be covered by promoting Under 20's players in the case of an injury/poor form.

I forgot to add Wolfman into the team.

Jeez that makes it a lot harder.

Ropati? NFW

He'd be an upgrade on Pomeroy if we used him as a center, not much of an upgrade but still an upgrade.

I wouldn't mind snagging him if we miss out on all others (Tate, Morris etc) but defiantly shouldn't be first on Flanno's backs list.

i could live with wolfman and tate as signings.

atleast then we know flanno will have to give young guys a game when these guys get injured.

i'd rather chew my own cock off than watch ropati in our team.

jordan kahu would be a better get than him

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying that if we're left with the option of Pomeroy or Ropati, I'd go with the later.

Wolfman had one good year yonks ago. He wouldn't be any better than his brother was.. infact worse because he can't convert. Would much rather seen a young up and comer. Kahu - yes. Clinton Gutherson from Manly Holden Cup fullback/ centre also looks brilliant.
