ok these are the off contract players who would be handy in our weaker positions:

wing:
lachlan maranta
dale copley
drury low
ben farrar
david williams
manu vatuvei
kevin naiqama
ash graham
bryson goodwin
andrew everingham
marika koroibete

centre:
jordan kahu
dale copley
jarrod croker
tim lafai
ben farrar
jamie lyon
gareth widdop
maurice blair
junior sau
mahe fonua
brent tate
jacob loko
dylan farrel
matt cooper

prop:
dunamis lui
george rose
junior moors
sam lousi
mitchell allgood

lama tasi
matt groat
caleb timu (never happen)

half: (both 5/8's and halfbacks as todd can play either position)
sam williams
gareth widdop
carlos tuimavave

bolded are the priorities. These are from zero tackle so half the players probably aren't off contract.

The gems in this supposed group of off contract players are jarrod croker and sam williams.

I would love to see-

sam williams
jarrod croker/jacob loko
sam lousi
ben farrar

I reckon Tuimavave would go well at centre.

There's also Folau.

Centre is far and away our biggest weakness.

Yeah tuimavave seems like the sort of athlete who could play anywhere in the backline, abit like widdop...

Izzy would be commanding A LOT but he'd just about be the dream pickup.

Check out Jordan Kahu highlights on you tube. Think he comes from Benji's high school of Keebra Park was touted as the next Locky by the broncs had a very solid debut on Friday. Has played fullback, wing and I am sure can play 5/8. Maranta is another who plays wing but looks lost because he plays 5/8 for Norths Devils in the QLD cup. Fonua has had a good start to the year. Plus would love Widdop here I think he is very good.

Ash Graham or Everingham wouldn't be a bad pick up for the wing.

Crocker would be an awesome signing if we could pull it off but I don't see him leaving Canberra.

I don't really see us picking up any of those props. What happened to Packer? Did he sign elsewhere?

I want Briscoe still

He's been poor this season hasn't he?

I remember people cracking jokes that as soon as he was rumoured to have signed with us he started playing terrible.

I think Snowman can tell us (He's an ESL fan isn't he?)

koroibete would be a good pickup. Seems to be able to make stuff happen out wide which is what you need when you play wing for the Sharks and get no decent ball. Plus he's from the tigers so he's gotta be a good buy for the Sharks lol

Personally don't see any quality backs signing with us over other offers - so BAU

We should look at identifying more of our juniors and grooming them for 1st Grade. To me it is so disappointing that this club has so few local juniors in the top grade. At the moment, 1 out of 17. What type of message does this send to the young kids coming up through the ranks?
I hate the Roosters but even they groom 'some of their junior talent' for first grade and with some of the buys that they make this will hold their squad in good stead. A few years ago we beat their Toyota Cup side in the semis to knock them out, yet only occasionally do we see them in the top grade. Johnathon Wright before Stewart Mills, Jeff Robson before Chad Townsend. If Peachey and Lichaa don't get a go soon they will walk. We have to spend the money maintaining what we have, buying 1 maybe two players outside of this. Our juniors is where it is at and since Ricky and now Flanno, that has been non existent.

There are a heap of blokes off contract that could fix our problems on digits list.

If we managed to sign these blokes I think we would go along way to winning the comp:
Sam Williams
Jamie Lyon (Tate if we miss him)
Ash Graham
Ben Farrar
Sam Lousi

That's who I'd sign if we were aiming to win it in the next couple of years. Whilst trying to stay within the salary cap. I just think an older head in the centres (Lyon or Tate) would help us more than Croker and Loko in our push for a premiership in the next couple of years. If you look at our squad now's the time to push the button.
