Who should partner Carney in the halves?

of course it does.Or has the game changed that much.
Im sure flanno will give it some serious thought when weighing his options up

Of course defense is still important.

What I'm saying is the halves will be able to defend adequately enough, otherwise they wouldn't be NRL players.

The halves aren't in the team to tackle.

Like Soward for instance?
.

I can't believe I'm gonna stick up for Jamie Soward, but here it goes.

Are you seriously saying Soward can't tackle?

Now I know it's not the strongest part of his game, but besides that night when Inglis owned him, I think he has aimed up.

There is no way you can play origin if your a dead set liability in defense.

Anyway back to my original point - our halves will judged on what they create and their organising ability. Not whether they are good defenders.

He's the only 5/8 that defends on the wing.

In attack he's at 5/8 but as soon as it's defence he can't get to the wing quick enough,so Beau Scott can protect him.[bloody girl]

He's not that bad, just cause he looks special and got smashed we like to pay him out... oh and playing for the queens might have something to do with it.

defence hasnt been our issue. scoring points is.
for once lets not ask who can defend or not lets argue who is the better attacking players and lets finaly score some bloody points
halves arent supposed to be the greatest defenders in the world, they set up plays and score points.

Watched a couple of replays today. Really think Carney 6 & Chad 7.
Chad will continue to develop, a young guy with talent. Graham to lock & move Gall to up the scrum.
Graham to play an Anasta type role when I guess it worked for them in 2010. Really don't think think that Graham is a long term 7. To big.
Stapo is a loss as I reckon he would have had a wing spot stitched up. There are options. Both Gordon & Mills have the talent to be week in week out 1st graders.

Agree entirely. The key is Gal moving to prop. He won't want to, but it gets our best players on the field for longer.

Everyone rates Cronk these days. Townsend is in a similar mold. He's probably not as quick unfortunately, but I reckon he's got some trick-shot kicks that Cronk doesn't (or isn't allowed to) use.
