Yep, the last thing the club needs is to take risks at the top. If the article is accurate I can't understand why they would even consider the other chap.

Even if the article isn't accurate, I'll trust one of my former heroes before a stranger.

Surely there's better quality prospects out there than these two.
Talk about from the penthouse ( Gorman ) to the cellar .
Very disappointed having read that article .

How the **** do we even entertain the idea of hiring a disgraced former AFL CEO?

And Barry doesn't sound much like a CEO. Sales guy maybe.

Any fair dinkum sports administrators out there?

I see what you're saying, but I would rather a stranger if they had the right credentials over a former player. The 'Jobs for the Boys' mentality held Rugby League back for decades.

This is just for Football CEO correct? We've split Lyall's role into two yeah?

After speaking to couple guys that follow AFL admin pretty closely and in particular Carlton, I wouldn’t be all that unhappy
If Trigg got the job here. Trigg has quite a following amongst Carlton types and some notable people were pretty peeved when he was moved on. Word is he a bit do’er and get things done - not the type to sit on his hands.

It’s been told to me that the operations side of things improved remarkably at Carlton while he was there and so to Morale.
He was behind a number of initiatives there in his time , including getting Brendan Bolt as coach and the video “The Journey”
Which is well worth a look if you haven’t already seen it. http://https://youtu.be/_MCiR9EU9Dw
His suspension for salary cap rorting 😉not withstanding by all reports he is a very good sports administrator . I’m sure he’s learned his lesson- if not hope he’s learned how to do it right 😉

Just because he doesn’t have and NRL background doesn’t bother me. Gorman is a reasonable example of this.
Anyway , just passing on what I’ve heard . Fire away!

Yeah I follow Carlton and he's had a good impact down there. He was pushed out by typical Carlton faction bull**** that's been happening there for years.

Only thing is he's an Adelaide boy and was still living there when working at Carlton. He'd commute back and forth quite a bit. Don't think that would work here.
