i loved ginnane in this ... but if i had to sit through 80 mins of televised coverage where the description of the play is so direct, it is almost condescending.

as far as TV voices are concerned, i'd have to go with

Vossy number 1 ... he always makes you feel like your team is his second favourite, never really has much bad to say about anyone or anything and is funny.
Rabs number 2 ... he's iconic. he is the voice of rugby league, in the same way we've come to love benaud on the cricket coverage.
Sterlo number 3 ... his knowledge of the game is far and away beyond any other of the regular media personalities.

Overall I'd say Rex Mossop, he called the game as it was, some great commentary.

Current, I would say Andrew Voss, non bias commentary.

The thing is Gould does have a footy brain, he just pee's people off with how he promotes himself, his attempt at humour plus he uses the same material over & over again not to mention the agenda's he goes on with.

I was indifferent to Gould until a couple of years ago, when on air he had a go at one of Labor's policies (I think it was the mining tax). Since then, I've had no time for him, what does he know about the complex pros and cons of the policy? It annoys me to think that there is probably a good chance he influenced at least some of the stereotypical RL bogan fans.

I can't stand the triple m calls.

I can't really stand the rest of them, but love Dan Ginnane.

Vossy by far. I still love Rabs, he is the GOAT.

Radio would be tough, but I am going with Dan Ginnane just over the 702 call

Okay... was it you and I who were talking about him one night and then just started screaming about everything as if he was commentating it? I was incredibly drunk, all I remember was it was after a NRL game I went to.

It was the proposed poker machine reforms, I remember it clearly because it pissed me off too.

Oh yeah, there was such a clear conflict of interest, he really should have just kept his mouth shut

I really didn't expect such a broad range of commentators to be named. I remember when I didn't even know who Des Hasler was - ah, the ignorance of the youth :D

You don't have a link do you? And can anyone actually confirm is Vossy is actually actually calling games at all anymore?

It was me that emailed Talkin Sport about this thread. There's no link.

For any reason in particular? I remember back when Fitz tweeted "bird is the word" and we went crazy.
It's confusing how a supporters football forum can hold so much sway in the media.

Yes, just to let Graeme Hughes know that he was still thought of as a commentator.
