I'mnot sure about the NYC, but from the NSW cup these are the three best candidates IMHO. Any or all of these guys could become solid first graders if they are given the opportunity to become full time professionals.

Anthony Killingbeck (back-rower) could probably handle a bench role but is probably a year off being ready full time.

Jess Caine (centre) has played first grade before (at Souths) and would be capable if given the opportunity.

Ryan Verlinden (prop) is probably good enough for a game or two this year, but is still a step below Mannah and both the older guys (Norrie, Selmes) in terms of being ready to play on a week to week basis.

I attended the Members forum at the club tonight and the question was put to Ricky regarding Ryan Verlinden and him playing first grade.

Ricky's answer was that while Verlinden had enormous potential, he wasn't quite ready for first grade just yet. He is a big unit and while he could certainly make inroads up the middle he was still working on his defence. By that Ricky didn't mean his tackling technique but the time it took him to make a tackle, get up, run backwards 10 metres and be ready to tackle again. He just isn't quick enough at first grade standard to do this. But Ricky reckons it won't be long before he would be.

See my post in the thread regarding the membership forum.

and i would play for free for the sharks but i also would not be very good

I would be very entertaining though; five minutes of blazing intensity followed by 25 minutes on the Oxy-viva before returning for a five minute spell before half time!

i have seen Joudo play a few games this year and he has some serious potential. Dont think he is quite ready for FG just yet. Maybe next year though
